The Greyhawk Ruins Sourcebook states that a member of the "faithful of religious organisations" affiliation gets a +1 affiliation score modifier if she or he "adventures with a member of the affiliation". The only other affiliation with that modifier is the "mercenaries' guild", and they get a +1/per mission [my emphasis] affiliation score modifier. Is the "faithful of religious organisations" supposed to work the same way? Two of the PCs in my Greyhawk Ruins home group belong to the church of Heironeous, and we want to know if the two regional introductories they've played together give them both +2 to their affiliation score.
Cheers,
Gary Johnson

Okay I have a couple of questions about the Greyhawk Ruins, the Nightwatchmen affiliation and kobolds. I am not sure where to ask them so I figured I would try here first.
Can a Kobold join the Nightwatchmen?
If so, at what level if any of the Nightwatchmen would he not have to sneak/bluff/diplomacy his way into the city?
Does the capture a criminal (CR => then level) apply to any criminal/bandits or the party captures and turns over to the Greyhawk guard or Nightwatch or only to thieves since it says +1/4 the thieves’ CR?
How is this tracked (in the player notes area of the AR)?
Okay a Kobold question. Is the Draconic Rite of Passage spell retrainable?

Will the Rules Compendium be adopted as an official rules source? Can it be a guideline for judges to make rulings?

Concerning the Merchants' and Trader's Union:
The Master of the Guild level of membership requires a DC 20 appraise check every month. How often would that check be performed?
Other benefits use something like once every 4 ARs to simulate something that might be close to a month, or might not depending on interpretation.

When building a cohort, can you use your own access to feats / prestige classes / base classes? I know I've seen someone say they had a Duskblade cohort, which suggests this is legal, but I'd like to be sure, as a couple of my PCs are contemplating Leadership as a L15 feat and obviously the cohort won't have any opportunity to gain levels.
For example, my fighter has access to the Combat Medic prestige class: it's Open access for him. Could he take a cleric / combat medic as his cohort?
Thanks, Tracy

Two more questions.
1) What is the maximum strength rating allowed for composite bows? I seem to remember an old cap of +4, but there is nothing in the current LGCS (and there is no chart in the Players Handbook).
2) I have a multi-class PC who has access to substitution levels. I know that you can retrain one class level for a substitution level. If you have multiple levels in one class and one level in the other class, can you retrain that one level for a substitution level in the primary class?

Contemplative access question: 'Must have direct contact with one's patron deity, or direct servant of that deity, or with an enlightened being embodying the highest principles of an alignment...'
X = diety.
AR1 (Y4 adventure) says: This character has made peaceful contact with an agent of X....
AR2 (Y7 adventure) says : This character has made friendly contact with A, a servant of X. This fulfills the prerequisite for the contemplative prestige class. ...
Is it the italics phrase which grants you access to contemplative or just some paraphrasing of AR1's text? It seems to me the italics phrase was just additional clarification so both qualify. Thanks!

to the contemplative question yes both fulfill the requirements.
the merchant and trader's union appraise check is more than likely every adventure in the ruins campaign at least. i'll have to check this one out with the rest of the crew.
the rest of the questions i'll get answers to for ya.
