So... this may be a little off topic, but...

Many many moons ago a random forum somewhere had a thread comparing 4th edition D&D classes to World of Warcraft classes.

So, my question is:
Can i play a Tauren Shaman in LFR?

DM: "OK.... uhh.. Moofasta, yeah.. the drow assassin is still 5 spaces away, it's your action."
Annoying player: "FROST SHOCK!!!!"

Note: I'm surprised no one had gone there yet...

4th ed, according to the reports relayed by my agents in those Other Realms, currently lacks Wild Mages, Rods of Wonder, Decks of Many Things, Zagyg, and copper dragons A general decrease in the craziness level is to be expected

He was too busy laughing at us and casting two L9+ spells per round to run away, right up until we managed to exhaust his immediate action and THEN stick a dimlock on his area (cracked SR 42, which was just enough) and THEN put a Solar in an AMF right next to him (before his next turn). Mages in AMFs are not so good at grappling. (Our poor AMFed Solar had been chasing him around for a couple of rounds - we learned pretty early on why he was called Jumper. Silly permanent contingent effects...)

The problem is that we had Damun, (the 15th level cleric - We were playing APL 16) earth dreamer off to disrupt the ritual WHILST we fought the big bad.

Any Miracles/9th level spells were used to free gods.

Basically Alvin, and Eowimia took on those guys, whilst our figter wandered around and got his ass handed to him (poor Gentar disarmed those Rods of Quicken and Chain, and copped a it in response)

Raven (Luke Parry's wizard) annoyingly sat in an Otiluke's the whole battle.

Some random archer guy who was stuck on our table was blasphemied and plane shifted in the first volley, which was good cos he would have died...

- Pity you have no reason to come to Sydney cons, if you do, I will wear my purple boots and show you where his friend bought him his from...

I particularly enjoyed the way that the characters kept trying to count how many contingencies he could possibly have without necessarily thinking, "Maybe epic level NPCs can just make things up for Wish".
