I considered that feat for my invoker/wizard, because it woudl be cool to use daggers as implements, but it only works on arcane classes (rather dumb restriction imo). So I'll stick to staffs, even though it seems ambiguous on whether you can use magic quarterstaffs as implements.
Note that for my bard, I bought a +2 implement, sold it, and used the money to buy a harsh songblade +1. I can't get a higher level item this way, but it is something.

Oh the character doesn't need the feat as its a Sorcerer, I want the item for his MC powers as he goes up in level (its easier to upgrade once you have the right item). But frankly a +3 item isn't that expensive, so I'll likely pick up something for the sorcerer (his most recent mod didn't have a light blade option on the magic weapon) and then once I have the gold grab the Harsh Songblade. (Just as Gomez describes). But hey this is a wish list thread right? And dag nam it I wish for a Harsh Songblade

If you have a spare feat, you can take the one in Arcane Power that allows you to use an implement from another arcane class for your arcane powers (i.e. swordmage light/heavy blade). I took this to get a Cunning weapon for my wizard.
What? Stop looking at me like that! YES I LIKE CHEESE. I LIKE IT VERY MUCH.
