Do DMs adjust the XP rewards for Beneath Haunted Halls for tables that are an average character level of 3 or higher? I DMed part one last night and added the suggested creature per encounter as the adventure recommended. So, do I add the extra 90 XP to these characters' individual XP rewards?
Or, as I believe, do we just award the flat XP as tabulated by the adventure, no matter the adjustments for number of players or additional creatures?

The xp is not tiered in Beneath Haunted Halls. That is all you can award.
I don't know about "all gaming stores," but I am running the local one in Fairborn Ohio, and the gaming store was happy for it to be free. They like free.
Be sure to give the story award in Part 1 if the PCs accept the task of finding the missing person & item, regardless of how Encounter 1 played out. It is how LFR shows the PC started on a Major Quest.
Also, in Toad Hall (Part 3), less randomness and more hints are in order. Don't leave the PCs trapped and clueless about the way home.
Watch your time in Part 2, there are some side encounters that probably need to be shortened as they don't add much value.

Keith The game store where at least some sessions are being run here in Las Vegas is not charging. I just wish I had had someone show up yesterday. Oh, well, at least I got to run a slot 0 for it. Heh.

For Toad Hall, I was giving the players the clue that the Haunted Hall portal was actually pulling them, with a feeling of familiarity, and that seemed to work well. Remember that each of the other 3 portals have a definite appearance. I gave the Haunted Hall portal a glow without a color, as though it was just light from a similar place shining through. Spoiler:

Yeah, much of the bling from Part 2 went away with the change in version 1.7 on Alchemical formulae being open... Although the onyx dog isn't a bad item. My players managed to justify missing the side quest, while managing to get the shadow portal story award.

And yes, I agree that some hints are in order for Encounter 9 in Toad Hall if a party is not getting it.

Question regarding Part I Story Award: Spoiler:
Show
What constitutes "Mercy for Thraven"?
One group decided to knock him unconscious and then questioned him. Since this was the end of Part I and two new players were joining I had the two new players arrive with a few guards from the caravan. The players turned Thraven over to the guards. Should they get Week02 Award or do they need to set him free into the wild?

For this one, I'd give them the reward; They didn't kill him outright, so thats what I think the award is going for; they'd get the same reward if they took him back to the place he started and handed him over.

Mercy = they didn't kill him outright. He even says he accepts whatever judgement they deem proper - including being sent back to town to face judgement. So, I agree with Reyyvin.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to give players. The other DM hadn't done so. However, based on this feedback and a quick discussion, we are awarding this story award now. Thanks all.
