At Origins, we had the pleasure to play a new class: The Swordmage. This is now one of my favorite classes and I am hoping to start the new Living FR campaign with one. Could someone official mention when this class might be available and if it will be available for selection as a starting class prior to GenCon? I would hate to make a 'throwaway' character as my main character at GenCon.

Thanks!

It is being released in the FR Players Guide which comes out in September. So I do not see it being available for you to make a LFR charcter for GenCon.

I had a few people ask this when I was sitting behind HQ's "General Questions" sign at Origins (and also ask about Gensai).

So I posed the question to Chris Tulach when I had a moment on Sunday.

His words?
"Tell them not to worry about it"

Text, of course, doesn't convey the grin he had on his face as he said it (and reading it now I can see where it would be interpreted incorrectly).

Take from his comment what you will. I'm guessing/hoping that basic information for the Swordmage (maybe the first five levels?) will show up somewhere (like the LFR CCG Appendix, or Dragon, etc).

Tulach was grinning a lot this weekend. Then again, I mainly saw him as he was recounting old stories with Dave and Erik Mona as they considered inserting YouTube links into the new RPGA General Rules as points of reference as what not to do.

Reminds me... there's a certain link I have to find...

I told my roommates about it and we watched it that night, er, morning. Needless to say it was priceless. The bar for lifetime ban from the RPGA has been raised.

Any chance of letting us into this secret?

Or is it something only suitable for PMing?
