Coming to GenCon? Planning on hitting up the Delve?

Want to know what rewards cards you have a chance to earn?

You've come to the right thread!

2009 Dungeons & Dragons Promo Cards

Kenku Explorer [Creation]

"Better to find my own flock than to follow fools." - Grackle, kenku rogue

You are an avian humanoid known as a kenku. You lived in a flock of your people, secretly present in the shadows of a city, existing without much notice from the other dwellers. However, your strong independent streak has lead you to a desire to explore the world beyond your flock's territory, and thus you've struck out from your home to seek adventure.

Benefit: This card allows you play a kenku. The kenku racial traits can be found in Monster Manual 2, page 220.

Lore of the Planes [Expansion]

"I have the means to get you anywhere. Just give me time and some of your gold." - Tellian, half-elf wizard

You have made contacts ith sources well-informed on mysteries beyond the world, and have gained access to ritual lore surrounding the planes.

Benefit: You have access to purchase ritual books or scrolls containing any of the rituals found in Manual of the Planes. You must still pay the listed market price to purchase a ritual from this source.

Lucky Strike [General] [+1]
"Gotcha!" -Ipthos, human sorcerer

Benefit: When you roll a natural 1 on an attack roll with an encounter power, use this card to re-roll the attack roll, keeping the second result. Turn this card sideways to indicate that it is used.

When this card is used, the bonus indicated on it becomes active for the rest of the game session. You may give any one ally the bonus indicated to any one d20 roll after the roll has been made. Only one card bonus may be given to a d20 roll. Flip the card face down or remove it from the play area when the bonus has been assigned.

Neat
Any word on when we will be seeing these or the previous 3 cards released as a general PDF?
This little signature is my official and insignificant protest to the (not so new now) community redesign.

The layout is lousy. The colour scheme burns the eyes. The wiki is a crippled monstrosity. So many posters have abandoned this site that some major forums are going days without posts. The 4e General Discussion board regularly has posts on the front page from two or even three days ago. This is pathetic.

Since I have to assume Wizards has a vested interest in an active community I wish someone in charge would fix this mess.

Officially, no.

I suspect the 3 DDXP cards being turned into PDF is waiting on Chris having time.

These are supposed to be rolled into a PDF around the end of the year (allegedly/so far as I can guesstimate).

In your next 'State of the Forums' communication (or over drinks in Indy!!) could you perhaps ask Chris about the potential problem that the vast majority of RPGA players have currently had no access to the next Quest card, and by the rules we ought to have it before playing MINI1-1 (presuming that there's a task in MINI1-1) if we want to play the Quest with the first character we play through the MINIs with.

In other words - the sooner it arrives, the better!!

I'll mention it - however I've also been told that the Quest hooks will be in mods OUTSIDE the MINI series.

Wait - so the cards distributed from Origins will not be available in card form anymore because we've already moved on to these new ones?

To the best of my knowledge (which, sadly, isn't perfect) the Origins cards AND these new cards will be available. So you'll have a shot at 2009 Promo cards 4 - 9.

I just wanted to show off what's going to be new at GenCon.

Would it help if I (re)posted the Origins cards as well? I have scans of them.

Also, at some point in the near-ish future the RPGA will release the last set (and eventually this set) as a pdf for everyone.

Sure, the PDFs come out, but I prefer the cards if I can get them.

Curious. I've seen pictures of cads #4-9 now but I've never seen #1-3 of the current set.
