Can anyone explain to me why the formatting on posts gets so screwed up? Take this post for example:

Two of the pictures don't show up at all, and the font changes randomly. And I have to spend ages going through each post deleting mysterious gaps that appear between lines.

It wouldn't normally matter so much, but given that this a thread for honouring contest winners, I reckon they deserve something a bit neater.
