About HecatombQ: What is Hecatomb?A: Hecatomb is a Trading Card Game (TCG) created by Wizards of the Coast.
Q: What is the goal of Hecatomb?A:
In Hecatomb, each player is an Endbringer, an evil genius bent on the destruction of the modern-day world. Endbringers summon monsters from myth and nightmare, breeding hybrids that can destroy an enemy's forces, eventually building up enough power to destroy the world. After a world is destroyed, the Endbringers travel through dimensional portals to other, parallel worlds where the contest begins again.
Q: How is Hecatomb different from other TCGs?
A:
Hecatomb's unusual stacking mechanic gives the game a three-dimensional feel. Five-sided Hecatomb cards depict a variety of horrid creatures, from terrible beasts and demons to crazed shamans. Cards feature four clear edges, with scores for power and abilities on the fifth edge. Players can create frightening creature hybrids called Abominations by stacking cards on top of each other. Each Abomination combines the powers and special abilities of all the creatures used to assemble it.
Q: What ages is Hecatomb appropriate for?
A:
Hecatomb and the themes featured within the TCG are fairly dark in nature, and therefore it has been classed as a mature game recommended for players 15 and older.
Q: Where does the name Hecatomb come from?
A: A hecatomb is a large-scale sacrifice or slaughter. Using the souls of twenty true believers to end the world definitely qualifies.
Q: What packages do Hecatomb cards come in?
A: Hecatomb cards are currently available in two different packages.
Starter Game: The starter game contains a randomized 40-card deck, a rulebook, and a counter sheet, and will have an MSRP of $12.99.
Boosters: The boosters contain 13 cards and will have an MSRP of $4.99.
Q: What sets are there in Hecatomb and when were they released?
A:
Base Set: The base set released on August 18, 2005 at Gen Con Indy. The base set is comprised of 144 cards and is available in both starter games and booster packs.
Last Hallow's Eve: The first expansion set is also 144 cards, available only in booster packs. It releases October 28, 2005.
Doom!
Q: What is a Doom?
A:
One of four fundamental forces of evil -- corruption, deceit, destruction, and greed. Each card belongs to a doom. Some cards work best in decks that combine certain dooms, such as a corruption minion whose conditional ability works only if it's played on a destruction minion. Each effect has the doom of the card that generated it. A conditional effect has the doom of the trigger that created it.

Q: What should I use to clean my cards?
A: Although there has not been an official answer to this, here are a few suggestions from the community.
Eye glass cleaner and cloth I have found to be very effective, from what I read there should be no lasting effects and when you are done they are as clear as day.
