I just filled out the feedback form, and I thought I'd post my likes/dislikes here for discussion:

--Collection likes--

I like that I can finally search for planeswalkers and other card types not supported in v3 without having to reset my filters. In general I how many more filter options are available.

I like that the search results seem less buggy that in v3, where the results often include a lot of  extra cards I don't own regardless of my filters.

I like that all decks are stored on the server and can have a format associated with them. I also like that the decks are auto-saved now that duplicating is easier.

I like the concept of binders although I have yet to use them. I think they will prove quite valuable when it comes to trading, and the wish list seems to have gotten more love with the ability to add cards directly from the Results section.

The sample hand feature is awesome for deck building.

I really like the counts at the top of each pile for deck building. I usually sort by converted mana cost which makes those numbers quite valuable.

The new slider bars for numeric filters like CMC and P/T are nice and flexible.

--Collection dislikes--

This applies to other views, but one of my absolute biggest gripes with the current interface is how tooltips are implemented. For one thing, tooltips themselves take entirely too long to appear when just hovering over things. I clocked it and you have to leave the mouse over something for about 4 seconds before a tooltip displays, whereas almost every other program I've ever used only has about a 1 second delay. I can't stress how annoying this is when I want some basic information, such as the meaning of an icon in the deck list or the text representation of a card I'm just hovering over and I have to wait. To make things even worse, you seem to compensate for this long delay by putting the same tooltip at the top of the right-click menu for everything. While that does allow circumventing the delay, it makes the context menus much more cumbersome to work with. Let's take the tooltips out of the context menu and reduce the tooltip delay to 1 second, or at least make settings to control these behaviors. On a similar note, the ? cursor that appears when hovering over the main navigation buttons and other icons with  tooltips is off-putting and unnecessary if you just make the tooltip delay shorter. I get what you were  going for with it, but it is just a distraction once you know what something does.

There is no way to open more than one filter drop down at a time, and worse, no way to see what the  current filters are. It's incredibly hard to keep track of all the filters you've applied when you can't  leave more than one drop down open at a time and once collapsed there's no indication given other than  the number of filters applied in each category. I think a summary of the applied all applied filters at  the bottom of the filters section is essential for all views that use them. You could even just use  another category drop down called Summary to make this easy to program, with that drop down simply  containing a text field with the filter summary in it. If you add that and the ability to have multiple  drop downs open at a time, everyone will be much happier with the new filter UI. To take it one step  further, including the filter summary for just a single category in the tooltip for that categories drop  down could be nice (instead of only have the number of filters applied in that category appended to the  category name)

There are no quick filter buttons for color (or card type less importantly), which are used most often  and were prominent in the v3 UI.

Even after loading the card images incrementally, scrolling still is very laggy when scrolling up and  down, and the image placeholders continue to get used. A list view will alleviate this tremendously, as  the card view is pretty much unusable for deck building right now with its current performance. Please  make the list view implementation your top priority.

The default quantity filter shows cards I have 0 of, including foils. It should default to show only  cards I own at least 1 copy of, same as V3.

Removing all copies of a card from a binder seems to require reloading all the card images in the  results section. This seems unnecessary and may be a bug.

The preview pane needs to be dockable.

The sideboard pane needs to have a larger max width, as you currently can't make it wide enough for  certain sorts. In general there seem to be many places in the UI where seemingly arbitrary resize limits  were put into place. This should be looked at as it removes a lot of control from the user to customize  their UI.

The currently loaded deck should remain highlighted in the decks list. In general not a big fan of these  list types that don't differentiate between the color for hover and click, and don't ever seem to  support actual selection.

There's no way to view you collection in a binder format like before. I'm ok with putting the Collection and Deck Editor views into one screen, but it would be really nice to support a Binder View in addition to List View and Card View.

--Trade likes--

I like that you can resize/sort the "Results", "You Will Receive" and "They Will Receive" sections.

I like the ability to create Trade Binders.

--Trade dislikes--

Probably one of the more unbelievable issues is that not only is the Message column not resizable and ends well short of the right margin of the screen, but the text under it doesn't even utilize what column width there is. These results in posts taking several lines that should only need to take one or two, requiring much more scrolling. This must be fixed. Also, please just make the message take up the remaining screen width instead of capping it, or at least default the column width to the right margin and support resizing.

The fact the search term isn't highlighted in the username/message for the matching posts is a frustrating limitation. It would make it so much easier to spot who's selling a card I'm looking for at a reasonable price without having to read every single message all the way through to spot where the card name is mentioned. This would be one of my top enhancement requests and would make the trade post screen much nicer.

There's no way to remove a post. I tried pressing Clear, but all that does is Clear the My Post section, but it doesn't actually remove the post. And while the My Post section is blank, you can't click submit. There needs to be a way to remove a post. I also managed to get into a state where I couldn't edit my post message after initially submitting it. I'm not sure if this is a related bug, but these issues absolutely must be fixed.

The chat window that opens when you start a trade isn't closed when you finish/cancel the trade. I'd also prefer if it opened already docked (or at least remembered where I had it the last time I traded).

Selecting a buddy in the list doesn't jump you to their post (if any). The icon next to their name also gives no indication of whether they've posted anything in the Classifieds. It'd be nice if the icon for such buddies changed somehow and such buddies were sorted to the top.

Posts takes several seconds to load initially.

No binder view in trade screen. This is perhaps even worse than being missing from Collection as it eliminates the feel of looking through a real trade binder that V3 and every prior version supported.

If you don't select any color filters, nothing displays in the Trade screen under Results.

The count next to Results doesn't accurately reflect the number of cards that match all the filters and are shown.

The "Partner's Trade Binder" heading is confusing on the trade screen. Why can't it just say "Filters" like in the Collection view.

Cancelling a trade yourself should not alert you that the trade was cancelled. That's obvious at that point. You should only be alerted if the other person cancels.

No support for including mana symbols in message (I'm assuming this is planned).

While setting up my trade binder, I was adding cards, and noticed that Planeswalker cards were getting added when I hit add all (of my Serra Angels, for instance).  Then I went straight to my Planeswalker cards, to see if they would got to my binder, and they did.  Now, I have not tried to trade with anyone yet, so I don't know how that would go.  My question is, is this a feature, or a bug?  Thanks.

I have been having a few issues with trading.

Occasionally when I start a trade by double clicking a classified post, the program will become unresponsive. The popup box will appear in the lower right corner and say "[Trade partner] has started a chat with you." The chat window does not appear, and the main window continues to show the classifieds. The program dos not respond to any mouse clicks including trying to close the program, and I cannot close the popup box by clicking the X button. When I attempt to end the MAGIC: THE GATHERING ONLINE task under the Applications tab of the Windows Task Manager, the popup window that says "Are you sure you want to close Magic Online?" appears. The popup window is also unresponsive.

I get this fairly regularly too. It seems to be pot luck whether the client successfully connects me to a trader or if it'll just freeze.

I'm putting a qty of 1 on the slider and I still get 0 qty cards showing up.  It's a pain.  I appreciate any insight.

A useful feature that I would like to see included in the collection screen is the ability to use binders as a specific pool of cards for deckbuilding (such as building from a particular cube, or mirroring physical cards). I envision this as an additional filter category labeled "Binders" and your binders would be listed under this category. If you click on one of the binders in this category then the results pane would display only the cards in that binder (and the quantity of those cards as well).

Alongside this I would like to see an option to ignore cards that you've selected that aren't in your collection (so that they aren't highlighted yellow).

When i view my deck in the deck builder in v3 I like to lay it out in multiple rows. This is not possible in the beta client. I can change the view to card-view and it will wrap, but I want to see the cards in pile-view and I want to be able to manually move the cards around as though the container they are displayed in is a grid.

Additionally I would like the cient to remember, or let me set, my prefered display mode for when I enter sidebording.

Hi,

Here is some feedback regarding the wide beta.

1) It would be great to have a filter for cards in your current decks. In this way I can quickly set for trade any cards not in one of my decks.
2) It would be great to have average sell and buy price on the card along with a filter of the same.

Thanks,

-Chris-

Hi,

A couple more suggestions.

1) Allow for partial tickets to be used in trades so that "credit" is not needed to complete trades
2) Create an easy way to put your cards "up for sale". It seems like tickets is the most common currency and being able to sell them for tickets would be helpful.

Thanks,

-Chris-

Still seeing a lot of odd trade bugs.  One of the big ones is if someone is on beta and someone else is on 3.0 if the person on 3.0 gives the beta user more than 75 cards the first trade works but when they try to do the 2nd trade the beta user cannot see the rest of the cards.  Sometimes relogging will fix this but typically we just give up and switch over to 3.0.

Beta Client just froze when I clicked 'Submit Deck' in a draft, which ruined my entire tournament. That's particularly irritating.
