In the Store, the sections in the left bar do not collapse when you click on them.

Sometimes when I first enter the Store, both sections will be collapsed. Then I click on the Category section to expand it, and the Set / Expansion section expands instead.

The cards look absolutely horrendous as is. Compare the V4 cards to their paper counterparts. The digital versions look like poorly created counterfeits, and I strongly hope huge improvements are made before the beta becomes the only online MTGO venue.

Absolutely. If the card quality stays like this, it would be a disaster. Aesthetics are a HUGE part of what draws me and many other people into magic. I would go as far as to say that aesthetics are what KEEP me in the game.

It hasn't been easy, transitioning to Digital Magic from paper but the benefits outweigh the cost. All I'm saying is that it could be SO EASY to make the card frames and the artworks look GREAT in the new client. All it would take is a couple of professional graphic designers having a go at this stuff, some minor tweaks here and there (and a lot of people have suggested enough tweaks for a starting point) and this work would make the new client THAT MUCH GREATER!

I haven't given up hope, seeing that WotC has taken a more accessible stance in the past few months, openly discussion the new client. This is good!

Keep it up and please rework the card frames and artwork picture quality. You would make thousands of people happy.

"Leave the cards they way they are in V3".

This isn't possible - V4 is a complete re-write. It's not like they can simply "do nothing" and they will be left with how things were in V3 - every client feature has to be reimplemented from the ground up.

The card appearance in V4 has lots more potential to be excellent than V3 ever had - card elements are defined as vector artwork rather than raster images. It's just not tuned right yet. I'm confident that with better choices of fonts, tweaking positions of the various elements, playing around with stroke widths etc they will be able to get the cards looking fairly close to the real thing.

THIS. One major problem is in the fonts as they are right now. It's been a huge step in the right direction but you should really step it up a notch by employing the right people for this kind of job. I am studying on an arts academy with a huge focus on font design and I know that there are specialists for that kind of job. I would be highly surprised if whoever did the fonts in the new client has had an education specializing in the selection of fonts or even creation. But that would be necessary for such a high profile project.

I prefer the hand anchored to the bottom of the screen like it is. But, if they want to give you the option to "undock" it, that's fine with me. I wouldn't like the turn indicator at the top of the screen. My eyes spend most of their time parked on the lower half or bottom of the screen.

I do not like those mock ups for the Account scene. They look too cluttered.

I like that mock up for the Game Details window. It looks good.

Having the hand floating over the battlefield would always cover some cards, so I do not like that. I like the phase bar next to the hand like it is in the current beta. The exiled, revealed, and sheild areas in that mock up would not work. There would be no room to expand them and show the cards. The dialog box with the ok button should not be floating. It would cover the cards. I always want the dialog box to be in the same place. I do like the stack floating over the battlefield, because it is usually not visible, and it should be the most important thing to me when it is visible. I would like to be able to move the stack wherever I want.

Thanks for taking the time to mock those up, LopesPipe. From the bottom image, it looks like the "OK" button is attached to the undocked Stack window, and able to be moved around with it. Is that what you intended?

for the last image. I tried to emulate the layout people are used to. having the infomation on top of the page. all windows can be moved. i don´t like the current info area on the bottom left. it is wasted space.  in my version it is a pop up that shows up only when required and the stack is in same window. the hand window can be resised and closed.  The exiled, revealed, grave and sheild areas open in a pop up when clicked. like in current version when choosing a land effect of fertile ground. I liked the original V3 beta screen shots.

for the other screen shots. the Left navigation panel is removed. all navigation is done at the top. like most programs.

A little thing that would make life easier:

I find I need to squint to differentiate between the hand, graveyard and library icons in game. If they were different colours, say magic card back brown foor the library, flesh for the hand and grey for the graveyard (or whatever) it would be easier to differentiate them.

(Edit): It occurs to me that using different colours for the numbers would achieve the same end, whatever looks nicest.

When I first start the program and the log in screen appears, the password field does not have focus. I have to click on the password field first to be able to enter my password.

I would like to be able to start the program, type my password, and press enter without using the mouse or pressing any other buttons.

Does anyone else have this problem?
