Hello everyone! MTGO Traders is once again sponsoring the weekly Classic Heirloom event. Join /heirloom for discussion and pairings. Registration begins at 1:30 PM EST on August 2nd games will commence at 2:00 PM EST.

Effective May 18th: All players will be able to pre-register for this event at PauperKrew's Gatherling. Instructions on how to do this can be found here. All players will be required to upload their decklists there. Round 1 will not begin until all decks are entered into Gatherling. Registering only takes a second. You can upload your decklists ahead of time as they are not visible until the host finalizes the event (after the tournament ends). If you have any questions let me know.

Effective June 4th: Double queuing will no longer be allowed. Any player caught playing in another PRE while playing in a Heirloom event will be disqualified from the Heirloom event.

Prizes 

First Place: 5 dollar gift certificate at MTGO Traders
Second Place: 2 dollar gift certificate at MTGO Traders
Third Place: 1 dollar gift certificate at MTGO Traders
Fourth Place: 1 dollar gift certificate at MTGO Traders
Door Prize: 1 dollar gift certificate at MTGO Traders (Players may not receive the door prize twice in one month)

Effective July 22nd: Foil giveaways are replaced by Heirloom side league. Check the spreadsheet for details and rankings.

Card Legality

Heirloom is a format that bases its card legality on the classic format and on the price value found at mtgotraders.com every month or so. The legality range is as follows:

Mythic: 0.01 to 1.00
Rare:  0.01 to 0.40
Uncommon: 0.01 to 0.20
Common: 0.01 to 0.10

These cards will be removed from any future legality list when they become available.

Tournament Structure

Registration will take place through the /heirloomresults channel. It is every player's responsibility to make sure that all their cards are legal in the format. If an illegal card is found in a player's deck, that player must concede that match and replace the card(s) with non-basic lands. If a player is unable to do this, they will be disqualified from the tournament.

Matches will take place in the Anything Goes room and must be constucted as follows:

• 30 Minutes
• Classic
• Watchable
• Labeled as "Heirloom Round __"
• Best 2 out of 3

Event will be a number of swiss rounds followed by a cut and single elimination playoff. The number of rounds is determined by the number of players.

8-15: 3 rounds of swiss with a top 4 cut
16-23: 3 rounds of swiss with a top 8 cut
24 or more: 4 rounds of swiss with a top 8 cut


In the event that a player times out, that player will forfeit the round (ie, both matches). If a match ends in a draw, the round will continue into a fourth game if necessary until a winner is decided.

The number of rounds and amount of players advancing to the single elimination phase will be announced at the tournament and is based upon player attendance.

Any player wishing to drop may do so at any time by posting their results with the word "drop" beside it.

Player Conduct

Players are expected to conduct themselves as they would in any other tournament. Repeated abusive language and/or behavior may be cause for disqualification. Hopefully that goes without saying.

 Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I've submitted another article to Puremtgo with which I will donate more Hammybot prizes to an upcoming event: The Classic Heirloom event on the 16th of September.

It will be another 20 tix worth of singles this time cards that are classic legal (not neccessarily Heirloom legal, maybe a dual land + some other stuff). Of course this won't effect the normal prizes for the event so It shoud be a pretty attractive combined purse. As I do more articles you can expect similar donations to othe Heirloom events. 

Certainly my pleasure. Im happy to see the progress of the format and would like to see it continue. If I can help Hammybot liquidate a little at a good return, so much the better.
