...you know, when MTGO was crashing so much that the forums devolved into utter chaos?
Take a look at the diablo 3 forums over at blizzard right now.
Yes boys and girls, The One Whe Should Take As An Example.... has dropped the ball(tm)
So now what do we do when we want to complain at wizards and call them unprofessional? Which shining beacon of perfection must we point at now?

Note that this isn't schadenfreude about Blizzards, but rather all the posters who held Blizzard up as paragons for whom nothing goes wrong.

Think I should have been more explicit about that?

People forget that Blizzard had a very difficult WoW launch. I remember spending a lot of time wishing I could be playing WoW when it had just come out. But then after a few months, things got better. The last few years of WoW have been trouble-free as far as I know. Then again, I quit playing after 2 years of WoW. Finally some better games came along.
Diablo 3 has been a real mess. I am able to play most of the time now but there are always issues. I play hardcore (death = your guy & gear is gone forever) and not only do I have to be careful not to die, I have to hope Blizzard doesn't have server problems that cause me to die!
Yes, Blizzard has gotten a very good reputation in the last few years after successful launches of so many WoW expansions, Starcraft 2, etc. But I felt fairly ripped off when I bought D3 and I couldn't even play the game for the first couple of days of owning it. I certainly could have gotten a refund, but I wanted to wait and play the game once it was working.
We don't need a paragon of perfection (a.k.a. 2011 Blizzard) to compare WoTC to. We just need to feel like we are getting our money's worth. I've played four big events since AVR pre-release and things were close enough to problem-free. I have gotten used to all of the little glitches that would normally upset me if I was discovering them for the first time. I feel like I got my money's worth. I "only" ended up down $15 after two pre-releases. That's got to be a record!

I still remember the dark times when refund requests were frequent and the server would crash a lot whenever a new set came out. Personally, I really appreciate the current level of stability. I just hope the next version of Magic Online is as stable as this one.

Yes, Diablo 3 is easily the worst game Blizzard has published in the last 15 years. That doesn't make Wizards any better, though.
