I think they did it just to generate buzz. If they didn't want people speculating, I doubt they would have even mentioned it - I don't think I've ever seen/heard anyone say a thing about that specific missing art in all my years on modo.

I knew it was missing, we link cards all the time in random chat in auction.

Someone woulda noticed.

Far as I know, this was the only piece of art missing from the Cards directory - all other released cards have art in there, some in more than one version for various card faces. Could be the Mox in From the Vault: relics reminded them of this piece of unfinished business.
50. Doesn't hurt. Yet.

Most important downtime notes in years!! I for sure don't want to be playing with P9 without the art!

Pet peeve #137: "moxen" is no more the plural of "mox" than "virii" is the plural of "virus".

It's perfectly fine to use "mox" as a plural. Although it is possible to pluralize some adjectives ("the reds will beat the blues") it certainly doesn't have to be so ("the red will beat the blue" is perfectly fine).

Anyway, there may not be any reason to speculate based on this announcement (since we already have all cards in the collection browser) but it is of course suspicious that they are paying attention to it now. Could of course be as innocuous as someone reporting it.

Seems like there's plenty of simple fixes out there that don't get fix.  I call this undeniable proof power 9 is in MED4!

I agree... absolutely undeniable proof. Although I actually wonder if there are art issues such that they are going to have to use the new art for the Moxes anyway...

Does anyone know if they resolved all the art issues on on older cards as related to MTGO? Can I hope for Original Art Wrath/Sengir/Unholy strength in MED$?

I collect Zendikar Foil Basic lands. Trade me yours!
Things that I want to see changed on MTGO:
1: 64 man drafts added to rotation of Events.
2: Friday night Classic/Better event times for Classic.
3: Visual/Audible Notification of disconnect, deckbuild/afk time expiring and round starts.
4: Prize Payouts as close to draft sets as possible.
5: Rotate Classic draft queues monthly!
6: MOCS level events for Classic/Pauper
7: Power 9!
8: Award Promo Cards for Constructed PEs (esp for Legacy/Classic)
9: Program Split option back in!
10: Set Favorite version in deck editor (i.e. always use x swamp)
11: Better sorting of gold cards in deck editor.
12: Bring leagues Back!

It's a made up word (at least, made up for this usage).  Who's to say what's the appropriate pluralization?

Mox is latin for "soon". Whether it was made up is very debatable.

Mox: The five sought-after jewels take their name from "moxie," slang for courage, pluck, or (in Garfield's thinking) energy.
