I was auto-mulliganed again in an event. I put in a claim and received a coupon last week, the first time this happened. They granted it. They also said something like 'we won't compensate you for this issue again.'
I will keep making these claims whenever the bug hits me. I'm careful and it seems only to happen to me about one in fifty games or so. Even when it does happen, I can ignore it if I win the game or match.
If they choose not to grant the refund, I will stop playing until this issue is fixed. I will not spend money on the Saga release (which is a shame, since I really want to). I will not play in tournament events. If I log in, it will be trading and casual only.
I would like to know the official stance on the timeline for fixing this bug, so I can adjust my playing time accordingly. If the refund policy is 'only once' as I have been led to believe by customer service, then unless this is changed, I simply will not play in events.
Update 3/22: They granted the refund for this incident.

It's mind boggling that they can't fix this.

After you click the Yes button for "Do you want to play first?" the Yes button for "Do you want to mulligan?" appears in the same location. If you hold down the mouse button too long or stutter-click without moving the pointer, you will send a command to operate LMB on that hotspot.
As it happens, I have the opposite problem; I almost always have to click the button twice to declare my intent to play or draw.

since I can already see where this is headed.
This a latent issue ongoing for the past three months. WotC in its mindboggling logic has decided the best remedy for this issue is to leave it alone and have all players use the stellar vertical chat box before clicking OK. This will apparently solve the problem and is a good way to give experienced players an edge in the tournament scene. While allowing the newbie a one time get out of jail free card. Magiccurrent is one of those special pieces of dung that got painted with clear varnish before having puppet eyeballs and feathers glued onto it. This glorious Terdbird is unfortunately all we have atm so instead of ten minute fixes they are supposedly concentrating on Magicfuture which by all accounts is a ninjitsu expert capable of sticking lethal blows to any opposition. Unless that opposition happens to be immune to Gorrilla Glue. Then well you see we have to deal with clueless Monkeys From Space in their eternal pursuilt of proving Gorrillia Glue's super powerful expandoproperties. Your guess is as good as mine there sorry.

How hard could it be at least to move the position of the second set of buttons not to appear at the exact same place?

Yeah, that's a reasonable stopgap solution. Also, as we discussed with Alexis a few months ago, the client needs to clearly indicate when it's waiting to hear back from the server. Doing something like changing the cursor to an hourglass would be reasonable there.
Another benefit to moving buttons around is that it would also screw with the bots farming gold from the draft queues.

I think this is a joke... and I laughed... then I thought... wait am I missing something?
I collect Zendikar Foil Basic lands. Trade me yours! Things that I want to see changed on MTGO: 1: 64 man drafts added to rotation of Events. 2: Friday night Classic/Better event times for Classic. 3: Visual/Audible Notification of disconnect, deckbuild/afk time expiring and round starts. 4: Prize Payouts as close to draft sets as possible. 5: Rotate Classic draft queues monthly! 6: MOCS level events for Classic/Pauper 7: Power 9! 8: Award Promo Cards for Constructed PEs (esp for Legacy/Classic) 9: Program Split option back in! 10: Set Favorite version in deck editor (i.e. always use x swamp) 11: Better sorting of gold cards in deck editor. 12: Bring leagues Back!

Yes, that was a joke, I'm glad it caused a moment of humor.

Interface components, especially interactive ones, shouldn't move around on their own. It makes an awkward user experience. Instead the buttons should disappear the very moment they are clicked on without waiting response from server and new ones appear only when response has been received. Very simple solution. And shouldn't be harder than moving couple lines of code around to do.

Interface components, especially interactive ones, shouldn't move around on their own. It makes an awkward user experience. Instead the buttons should disappear change appearance (eg. gray out) the very moment they are clicked on without waiting response from server and new ones appear reactivate only when response has been received. Very simple solution. And shouldn't be harder than moving couple lines of code around to do.
Now it's perfect.
