Of course, if classic sets aren't your thing, I can't tell you what to buy.
But please, have a look at Exodus and what happens when you ignore a set. I guess this is just fair warning - these sets are not on sale for very long, and Urza's is chalk full of goodies for eternal play.
Thought I'd put this up as a kind of pubilc service announcement. I probably should have done so for Exodus when the bot cartel decided it didn't like the set and apparently convinced everyone else it wasn't worthwhile either. For those that listened and now way to play with Oath, Survival, Recurring nightmare, Manabond, City of Traitors et all - how's that working for you?
Peace out.

Dear Wizards stop charging current retail prices for old packs that we can't redeem.
*Edit - I would have done tons of drafts if the sets were 3.29 a pack, like they were when they were intially released. Otherwise I haven't touched those old sets.

Not to troll Danger -- but, why should anyone buy into a classic set right now when it's painfully obvious there's a good chance the key cards will be reprinted later?
~THIS~ Is why having a reprint policy (for online too) is important. It gives people a reason to buy cards when they're first made available.
Later,
Don!

Good Point.
Don't buy any cards - ever. Even Standard ones. They are just going ot reprint them.

~THIS~ is why they will print one exclusive new set online for you Don. Full of chaff, never to be reprinted, untradable. Watch those prices skyrocket. Give it up, you've lost the battle months ago in some secret high office meeting And yes I am buying Urza's.

Pfft, exclusive set with chaff ... I think you mean Homelands. Same, same. ;-)
When they get to the point where Homelands is released online ... the game is DONE! DONE, I SAY!
Later,
Don!

I would love to buy some Saga at the end of the month, but beyond a minimal amount it's just not going to happen.
The sets are hitting me too fast. I'm stretching my budget to get the cards I want from Worldwake right now, and in the first week of May we're going to get hit with RoE.
I have to budget myself to be able to afford any magic at all right now, and as much as I'd like to try it and draft Urzas, I can't afford to do both and I'm prioritizing my Zen Block over my classic right now.

Only if the draft format is fun.
I'm in regardless as I want the cards....
But does nayone knw if the format is fun? Anyone know where I can find an old 3x saga draft review/picklist/archetypes article? Was the internet even invented back then?
I collect Zendikar Foil Basic lands. Trade me yours! Things that I want to see changed on MTGO: 1: 64 man drafts added to rotation of Events. 2: Friday night Classic/Better event times for Classic. 3: Visual/Audible Notification of disconnect, deckbuild/afk time expiring and round starts. 4: Prize Payouts as close to draft sets as possible. 5: Rotate Classic draft queues monthly! 6: MOCS level events for Classic/Pauper 7: Power 9! 8: Award Promo Cards for Constructed PEs (esp for Legacy/Classic) 9: Program Split option back in! 10: Set Favorite version in deck editor (i.e. always use x swamp) 11: Better sorting of gold cards in deck editor. 12: Bring leagues Back!
