Lifetime MOPR...anything on the horizon?

When MOPR was introduced it was said that there would be a lifetime benefit as well but that it hadn't been determined and was in the works.  It's been a while, so any news on the lifetime rewards program?

I would think a program similar to airline mileage would be great where you could redeem points for rewards rather than have it dictated what those rewards were.  I'm interested if there has been any development so please let us know.

Productive post is productive.

Anyways, I too have been waiting to hear what they plan to do for lifetime MOPR rewards.  Even a simple response of "we have some ideas, but nothing we want to reveal yet" would be good.  Or any sort of time frame for when we can expect a new update about this.

I am also curious about this.

Pfft, I want free stuff too -- but you have to be careful of what you're giving out there.

In this case, I'd imagine some of the issues that come to mind are a) what can we give out that won't impact the market, mixed with b) what do people want, while considering c) it needs to be something reflective of the individual's level of involvement.

In the first case, I'd stick with foil basic lands -- maybe with unique art.  It's something everyone would play with, but definately not breaking the market.

In the second case, one of the limiting factors may well be the client.  I'm imagining that some things are already on hold until the web-based MTGO 4.0 is out.  That may well be a rewards program tied to the new client to help build good will between the older community of players and any new players that come into the game with the inevitable marketing push that will be attached with 4.0.

Finally, I wouldn't think the 'Powers That Be' would be big on tourney staples or overly-powerful cards being sent out willy-nilly and impacting the secondary market.  Maybe cards that aren't tradable would allow them to reward players for their time/money at a higher level, but also allow more comfort in sending out more powerful cards.

Just a thought.

Later,

Don!

Seems like a valid question to me.  No need to be hostile.

We are still discussing what we would like to do for lifetime MOPR rewards.  While we don't have any firm plans yet, I would think you might hear more as we get closer to June 20th.

well just to get my .02 cents in there, foil basic lands are the worst.  Maybe I'm OCD but i like all my lands to be the same.  It looks better, so therefore foil lands are of no value what so ever
I like fun, but competitive decks.  So I might not play what is optimal but they have normally been tested to have a 2/3 winrate.
