Sigh....I will miss you nix tix.  I looked forward to spending time with you.  Maybe next year you will return.

Nix tix at thanksgiving/xmas were nice back in the day, but now that we have a weekly nix tix (although only drafts) it seems less necessary/special.

I think they did a fine job with all the holiday events they are offering this december (though I hate the momir payout with a passion).

I was excited about the Momir tournament, but those prizes are terrible, plus I don't think the day/time works for me anyways.  Oh well, maybe I'll try out some Momir 2-man's.

"25 MTGO Avatars (winner’s choice of any previously released avatars)"

There are some pretty pricey avatars out there, I don't know why the prize seems unexciting to you. Just sell them and get whatever you would have liked as a prize. It is a free tournament after all. The question is how exactly is that choice going to be made? Contact customer service after the tournament? Has there ever been a prize like this before? Am I correctly remembering a choice of foil set prize at some point? How was that distributed?

The prizes for the momir tournament are awesome, considering it is free to enter.

At the very least, win ONE round (out of six) and you can pick ANY avatar!  That's quite generous.

More focus on Constructed; less focus on limited.  Makes sense since Constructed is usually way less popular than limited on MTGO.  ... time to deck build!

Good luck trying to sell your avatars.
Even if only 256 people show up (the max on the event is 2048) thats still over 1500 avatars being handed out. There's no sanctioned format to play them in, no more 'table view' to see them, and only a handful of current pricey ones to choose from. You'd probably be better off picking one of the 5 dollar avatars as mabye it won't devalue as fast as the 15 dollar ones but I wouldn't be surprised to see every avatar at 1 tix or less after this event. Which is fine, wotc can do whatever they want.

Getting any avatar, or several, as a prize for a free tournament is really cool.

Half off on constructed formats is even better.  That's going to make the payouts pretty sweet for the 100CS Weekend Challenge, and even the 2-man / 8-man queues will be nicely profitable.  I hope to see both fire often during that week.  I certainly plan to participate.

Well since I don't care about avatars at all, and as was mentioned above they won't be worth much, it's not enough of an incentive to play on the Sunday after Christmas instead of spending time with my family.  (Although I am not super excited about it, yes it is free... and Momir.... and I'm probably going to play in it if I am around and available.)

There won't be any pricy avatars at all after the tournament.
