I just stumbled upon this tonight.
www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.a...

Product Description Release Date
Shards of Alara Block Booster Packs 1/18/2010
Worldwake 2/22/2010
Duel Decks: Phyrexia vs. The Coalition 3/22/2010
Urza's Saga 3/29/2010
Rize of the Eldrazi 5/10/2010
Urza's Legacy 6/21/2010
Magic 2011 8/2/2010
"Lights" 10/18/2010
Masters Edition 4 12/13/2010

For starters we get 7 sets this year. I think thats the most we've ever had in a single year?
Yay for constant release events Smile.
Only one special set but I'd imagine more will pop up.

I'm guessing the Slivers deck will be out before 2010 since its not on this list (its not on the 2009 release schedule either though).

I stopped playing paper at the end of exodus, so I'm looking forward to trying the brokenness that is supposedly urza block.

Sigh.  Why isn't this being announced with more fanfare?  I've been asking about ME IV for months, and clearly they knew they were going to do one, but for some reaosn it was a secret?!??

It was spoiled on my site over a week ago (the release dates for the classic sets).

Too bad no one else picked it up.  I specifically had hamtastic ask them about ME IV in his interview on PureMTGO and they didn't mention any dates.  Kudos to you for the scoop.

Okay,

Does anyone know what "Shards of Alara Block Booster Packs" are?

To me that sounds like they are combining Shards, Conflux, and Alara Reborn boosters into one booster to make it easier to distribute prizes and enter tournaments with boosters.

Of course, I'm just guessing on that one, because that is something I would like Wizards to do with classic draft packs.

It's the online version of this: www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.a...

The question is, are they ALL FOIL as in paper, or because it's online will they not be?

Yeah I take that to mean "Premium Booster" too.  Which makes the labeling confusing.  But I have to assume it will match paper: $11.99 and all-foil.
Free MTGO Tournaments you should be playing:
Pauper (all commons) - Tuesday Nights, prizes by MTGOTraders
Peasant (Pauper + 5 uncommons, with paper rarity) - Sunday Nights, prizes by MTGOTraders
Silverblack (Modern-era Commons and Uncommons - Most Wednesday nights, prizes by MTGO Bazaar
Heirloom ("Cheap" cards only, e.g. rares under 20 cents) - Sunday afternoons, sponsored by MTGOTraders

Other games you should try:
Spectromancer - Online card game by Richard Garfield, available cheap on Steam.
The Old Republic - best story-based MMO.
Simunomics - Free-to-play economy simulation game.
