As a bit of background. I have eyesight issues. I take forever to read cards and even timeout sometimes. People get irritated with how long it takes me to play. Because of my eye issues, I am very sensitive to screen size. If the new UI plays through a browser are we losing the top of the screen to the browser taskbar/menu? Doesn't it shrink the entire playing area? If this is designed for wide screen then it is even shorter yet...compared to my laptop 15" nonwide screen window.
I also love the attack action but think the red action part could be narrowed until the cards actually touch. That gives a tad more space for the cards to be a bit bigger. I greatly prefer the land to be smaller in order to make the playing cards larger.
I would like to see examples within a browser rather than ignoring that detail.

I would love to see some more previews of the new UI. Specifically, I would like to see screenshots of the game running a multiplayer game. Seeing the red zone in action during a free for all game would be even better. Hopefully this new browser based MTGO can be played in fullscreen mode 1. In most web browsers, you can toggle it with F11 to switch your browser into fullscreen. This eliminates the toolbars on the top and sometimes the buttons and address bar. 1. Just making sure, because you might be already, but are you aware of the card zoom feature available in the current client? You can twin-click (click both left+right buttons at the same time) or click your scroll wheel on your mouse on a card to zoom it in. Alternatively, you can hold shift+control as you mouse over cards to zoom them in. Tapped cards will un-rotate all but 5 degrees or so to make them easier to read.

Myself as well I'm not sure what the new UI will bring but for the next 2 years or so try this.
-A second monitor/screen
If you drag the UI across 2 or more screens and resize the playing field to 1 monitor you can use the other for chat, the card tab, and the dumbifying dock.
Hope the D&D toon is okay my kid was watching a show via ninja and I would hate to interrupt. I can edit it out if its a prob.

When you're playing there is more room in the next version than our current version if you press f12 to go full screen.
There is much less wasted space, and the zoom is still there as well.

I was worried. Thanks. Knowing the playing field isn't less matters lots to me. I do use Zoom...all the time...until I memorize the card, then I forget something and make a dumb play....oh well. I don't use chat in play. Its too difficult to see and use. Thanks for the suggestions and very much a thanks for the reassurance.

FYI, in Flash they can easily do a full-screen mode. I suspect Silverlight allows this as well, as it's used by Netflix for video streaming, and as I recall (it's been a while since I had my netflix subscription) you can watch without *any* browser features getting in the way.
That's not to say WotC will allow a full-screen mode, but it's not out of the question.

The very early prototype I used already had this feature, so, um, I expect it to still exist when it goes live.

Let's not forget what happened to the last decent-looking UI prototype...

I presume you're talking aboot the sci-fi UI?
That was garbage too.
Granted, less garbage-y than what we got, but the same ginormous mistakes were in that one too.
Dock? Check.
Wasted space? Check.
Non-Zoomable? Check.
It looked slicker than what we wound up with, but we'd have the same gripes right now with that one that we do with this one (namely created by people long since fired in a way that was awful and unable to handle the requirements).
Or are you talking about a different UI?
