Hi,

since my beloved leagues are still not around I have decided to play a little bit around with the new planeswalker format.

In general I find it nice, as there are actually quite a few nice cards to build interesting decks around; however it seems that sideboards are not allowed. When I try to play a game with a 60 main / 15 sideboard card distribution, I get the message "sideboard size invalid". Is this intended, in order to keep people from building strong decks (including a good sideboard plan)?

Without sideboard some cards are nigh-unplayable such as Flashfreeze etc, and others do really hurt when playnig according opponents decks. Very often one meets elves and mono black or black/red decks with Dread etc. So in one matchup Terror is very good and eyblights ending is dead and vice versa. It would thus be nice to have some possibility to switch between games.

Regards Thomas

It doesn't say anything specifically about sideboards but you might want to check to make sure that your sideboard doesn't violate any of the card restrictions.

Also, the Planeswalker format is really supposed to be an introductory format, and I would think that if you are looking to build and play sideboarded matches (as opposed to single games) you are either experienced enough to move past it or are not the targeted player base.

Guess what? Chicken butt.

Sideboarding is not allowed in the Planeswalker format, which is a shame because there are a lot of "hate" cards that you cannot play maindeck.

It's really the main drawback of the format for me, otherwise it's pretty neat and unexpensive.

@tempesteye : Yes I'm experienced enough to move on, but not rich enough :p
I like the format because the card pool is limited and every player has the same one (well more or less depending if they buy the new packs)
