I was over on the pants forum and saw this awesome thread about the vampires in Zen, and how the deck will be called Twilight.dek. As you all know, I am looking after your best interest, and as a community we need to be prepared for this phenomena. There will be some debate as to whether Twlight.dek is an appropriate name. I have layed out my (life saving) argument below.
Seriously people R&D would have had many consultants on the team to get things just right. It is not out of the question that they had an actual Vampire on the team to get the flavour just right.
As we know Vampires have a range of supernatural abilities, thus the success of the Twilight franchise, it is more of a documentary than fictional account. It is my assertion that the Vampire consulting to R&D prophetically knew how successful the Twilight series would be, and therefore encouraged R&D to have a strong Twilight influenced influence in Zendikar. I am not certain, exactly, which of the Vampires supernatural powers translate to the digital environment, but I think it is better to be safe than sorry. I certainly don't want to wake up in a stupor, after falling unconscious at my own PC, after a vampire has mind controlled me, and made me suck my own blood.
THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. I think Buffy should be contracted to attend all major draft events for the Zendikar season.
If you have any knowledge of the undead, you will be aware they have a particular odour. If you have been to a pants prelease event with multiple flights, you will be aware there is a particular odour the room takes on. Join the dots people. Vampires are everywhere.
I, as a mortal, non-vampire, will not take the chance that my Twilight.dek opponent is not an actual Vampire, and I will pay the respect they deserve by frequently referring to their deck as Twilight.dek.
It would be an insult, and perhaps fatal, given their longevity, and ability to travel, to call Vampire tribal decks anything other than Twilight.dek. This has been a community service announcement. I hail the Twilight.dek, and will bow to all your minions of Twlight.dek'ers.

Which part do you not get? The Twilight reference or the fact that Vampires.dek will be the popular deck that good players love to see because it's not good and bad players will play it anyway?

Sigh. I have to go now, on important business. But I hope you will consider my warning carefully. BTW they are foily coz vampires glitter in sunlight. Believe me or not, though, it is on your own soul if you don't. Twilight.dek - you see, call it. I am thinking it will, maybe, nullify some of its power.

That is common knowledge, the OP was merely making a post about the deck.

Vampires, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! Some consider them undead while others consider them immortals. They are immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, and disease. Not subject to critical hits, subdual damage, ability damage, energy drain, or death from massive damage. How can we fight against such beings? Surely Buffy will save us from all of this but what else can we emply from standard to battle these creatures called vampires? White has a few nice creatures that have protection like White Knight. Blue can take care of those vampires by using their own tricks against them. Althought we do not know what type of Vampires these Zendikar types are, Mind Control is a good option as long as they cannont resist their own mind-influencing magic. With Blue we have Sleep but that will surely not work at all. The best way to beat a vampire is to become one or try to become one of their kind. I doubt these Zendikar vampires will be affected by those who attack their graves. Old relics from older core sets would help us battle against the vampire. We should burn them! Yes, burn them. Since twilight.dek is a mono black deck, we can use our fire mages and burn them. Forget using blue magics against the unholy black creatures called vampires. We should use the firey hellhounds and blinking dogs that are so familar to ourselves. We will look for the baron of the vampires that rules over Zendikar. Once that vile creature has been removed, all those lesser vampires that he has added to his own ranks will show a decrease in power. Our women will not be the subject of these twilight.dek net deckers and the allys will forever rule.

I don't see how the name could be Twilight unless the deck allied with white humans. And had extra kills against animals and other vampires! jejohns

i nearly fell out of my chair at this. last time i checked, prior to the Twilight series diluted the vampire mythos to the point of teen romance, vampires BURNED in sunlight. at the very least, they sleep during the day. (exceptions exist, as do varients on the vampire theme.)
