Why is it that with most Magic paper announcements, we are always wondering if/when/how the same announcement affects Magic Online? Today's announcement with the foil pack for instance. Our Online Wizards Community Group is LARGER than the paper one. Who do you think reads the boards anyway. Usually the tech savy people who are also (not suprisingly) the ones who play MTGO. It would not be hard to add one step to the Magic Announcements process. Step X - Include a discussion point on MTGO for this item. I'm thinking MTGO is the junk rare btw.

Nice you can make empty posts. And yes, MTGO is neglected by WotC. It's really sad.

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity. R. A. Heinlein - 1907-1988.

On a lot of things I couldn't agree with you more. Of course we have benefits like being able to play whenever we want etc but it's not like we are given these benefits for free. We pay more for our boosters and they never drop past MSRP(std). Of course they have been doing a much better job lately with the MTGO ptq etc but seriously when will we get full 1st class citizen treatment?

If they don't step up on the "treasure" in pack issue, then you will see some serious outcries!!!!

In an article today by Hammy, he mentioned that Worth confirmed to him that there are no treasures in MTGO packs. puremtgo.com/node/222 I'm changing the analogy. Not a "junk rare", but a "worthless uncommon". I'm still holding out hope that they see and injustice here and can rectify it by some other means such as issuing treasures by random transaction id from the MTGO store.

Just buy a Med3 pack from the store .... I bet your chances of pulling that Dual Land is a little better than 1 out of 750 packs.

Do we really care if the foil booster is not available on MTGO? There aren't any events that you can use it in, so the only thing you can do it crack it. You would be much better to just buy individual cards you want. And by keeping it out of MTGO, WotC are preserving the special status of foils, rather than eroding it. I like to think we are all being done a favour by NOT having the foil booster available online.

First, there definitely plans to do something with the foil booster on MTGO, maybe even slightly cooler/a little different. Plans aren't final yet, and the product isn't due out for many months yet, which is the reason we haven't announced anything. Regarding the treasures bit, it was stated upfront in communication (and as I told Hammy) that these would not be included in MTGO Zendikar packs. The simple version is that we don't necessarily execute every single promotion in paper on MTGO, and vice versa. There have been some very nice advances in MTGO recently (as someone mentioned, Masters Edition is something MTGO only that paper players would KILL for, right?) as well as PTQ's, MOCS, etc. We will continue to put money and support into programs where we feel it makes the most sense. If that happens to be both paper and MTGO, then it will be. If it isn't, it isn't. No one in this building thinks MTGO players are second class citizens, especially me.
