I think we really saw what can happen with the mythic/redemption combo if you have been watching the baneslayer price.  Since m10 sets were selling on ebay for $160+ everyone and their mom was trying to redeem them and baneslayer was normally the card that everyone was missing so it kept going up and up as redeemers were willing to pay more and more for it to finish off their sets.  Of course this all comes at the cost of players that have to pay more to buy a card that is highly inflated due to redemption and the fact that it's "mythic".

redeemers are just additional "customers" who increase demand for a card.  If someone's goal is to redeem, their demand for each mythic rare is equal (they need one of each).  The price is high because it is a sought after card overall, not just because people are redeeming.

Right but the mythic+redemption combo is what allowed it to get this expensive.  If it was a normal rare it would be nowhere close to $27.  WOTC needs to take care of it's players before it worries about the redeemers.

Paper redemptions probably shot through the roof thanks to the fact that the first M10 Paper Print run sold out over a month ago, which dried up product and highly sought after singles about three weeks ago.

Even though a new print run is winding its way across the globe as we speak, there's still more demand for M10 than there is paper cards.  Hence, more incentive to redeem.

Also, a LOT of professional MTG Players/Writers are screaming that "Baneslayer is the best deck in Standard" from the roof-tops.

Honestly, even if she WASN'T a mythic, she'd be about this price (something from a set always was... goyf? Figure? <-- Regular rares, non-mythic, 32+ in thier prime).  And the Duals would be higher, as would almost every other decent Rare in M10, thanks to the frequency being lower.

But yes,

Redemption + Mythic + Playable = Ridiculous prices.  She'd be ridiculous anyway though, just because she's the best card in the set, hand's down.

Right I should of added the + playable.   If it was a regular rare it would be around 18 IMO and then if you removed redemption from the equation I would say around 12.

Hoping to redeem a set by this next downtime.

What is the turn around time for M10 though? I doubt I would even get it in the suggested 10 business days.

From the main forum screen you should be able to click on 'edit' to the far right, under the "manage" column.

I think that is something only you can do then because there is no edit for me.  Any chance someone could change it from epic to mythic so that I can save face?  haha
