Save those Dazes and Fireslingers for TPDC Season 10! WHO This event is by invitation only. See below for the list of invited players. WHEN and WHERE General event coordination and pairings will be announced in /join tpdc. Registration will open at 8:30 p.m. EST in /join tpdc_results. The first round will begin approximately thirty minutes later. Entry Fee None! LEGAL CARDS and PROXIES The format for this event will be Classic PDC. All cards printed online as common are legal. Cards only printed as uncommon, rare, or timeshifted online, though printed as common in an paper set, are not legal. In other words, any card with a black expansion symbol is legal. Non-common cards that have common counterparts online may be used as proxies (see http://www.paupermagic.com/ArticlesArch … fault.aspx) Contact the event host prior to the event, or in the thread below, if you have any questions about what cards are legal. Format Restrictions and Bannings Restricted: No cards are restricted. Banned: Cranial Plating Note that Duel Decks: Jace vs. Chandra will NOT be legal for today's event. Save those Dazes and Fireslingers for TPDC Season 10! THIS WEEK'S PRIZES TPDC provides 4 or 8 lots of prizes for each event. A Door Prize will be reserved for a randomly-selected player who completes all 3 rounds of Swiss competition, but does not make the finals. After round 3, finalists need to PM me their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of prize lots. This will make it easier to award prizes immediately to players who make top 8 but not top 4, so that they don't have to wait for the end of the finals in order to receive a prize. Prize selection order among places 5-8, and among places 3-4, are in order of Swiss finish. A HUGE thank-you to the donators of this door prize! EVENT DETAILS and RULES Spoiler: Show There will be three Swiss rounds followed by a Top 4 playoff (Top 8 if there are 18 or more players). The finalists will be awarded prizes, as well as one Participation Prize (see below). Matches will be played in the Casual Play > Anything Goes room. Match results and drops must be reported in the results room. Matches must be timed for 60 minutes, must be watchable, and must have "TPDC [Round]" in the description. It is the responsibility of both players to ensure matches are set up correctly. If a player doesn't join their assigned match within 10 minutes of pairing announcements, their opponent will be awarded a match win. The deck and sideboard used in the first round must be used for the entire event. Deviation from the deck used in the first round will result in disqualification. The use of illegal cards in the first round will result in a match loss and the opportunity to legalize the deck for the next round with disregard to the above rule. The use of illegal cards after the first round will result in disqualification. Intentional draws are not allowed. Come to play and have fun. Please don't talk in other player's games unless both players agree that it is alright. Also, please don't use the results room for anything other than reporting match results or drops. Players who make the playoff cut must post their decklist in this thread, following the event, to encourage deck development. TPDC awards 2 points for event participation, 3 points per match win, and 1 point to finalists. Points accumulate over the course of the season and are used to determine invitations to the TPDC Season 8 Championships! That said, they were all winnable without it, it just took a bit more work. Thanks to Kingritz for the hookup and some tips on today's decklist - I wish I had done better by it. I was also fortunate to dodge the MUC matchup and get matchups that really should be favorable for Parlor Tricks, if the pilot is up for it. Brief tournament summary: L 1-2 vs. Esper: Carousel of Progress I think I could've pulled off game 3, but I didn't leave myself enough time because I took a long time to lose game 2. I have got to play faster. W 2-0 vs. MBC L 1-2 vs. GWr Cloak w/ Torch I kept a bad hand game 2 (mostly mana), and didn't find the gas in time. Game 3 was one of those 50/50 games that didn't go my way, but it really shouldn't have gotten to game 3. Top 8: L 1-2 s. GRw Zoo This one was very winnable but I made some incredibly dumb plays (when was the last time you forgot to kick your Steamcore Weird? I think I got in the habit of keeping Skred mana open, even when it made no difference). I deserved to lose this one. Thanks to all for playing today, see you next season (next week) for TPDC X!

Instead of I win I got my seemingly regular spot in the T4 of a TPDC Worlds event. I think I've made T4's 3 times out of maybe 5 times actually making the Worlds event, since I miss it occasionally. Anyway, the event was still fun, even if I only went 3-2.
