Hopefully there are some of you out there that have played this format in real life. Not sure how they could set it up online, but here are the rules/setup information:

The format uses 2 decks and is for 3+ players(Works for 2 players as well.)
-Deck "A" consists of nonland cards ONLY!
-Deck "B" consists of land cards ONLY!

When starting the game, players take turns(starting with highest die roll, etc.) drawing from the deck of their choice. Rotating clockwise/counterclockwise players draw 1 card at a time until each player has 7 cards in hand. Whenever a player draws a card throughout the game that player may draw from either pile.

The rest of the format/game is like regular multiplayer. Attack anyone. Spells have no range limit(playerwise), etc.

Basically the nonland deck is made up of the most random cards you have in your collection. ie: Flying Carpet , Aladdin's Ring , most Homelands cards, etc. Real powerhouse cards, lol. But obviously throw some good cards in there too. Whatever you want.

Actually, if you play with only one common deck, it shouldn't be that hard to program.
Each player then bring a deck in set format, all decks are shuffled together into a common library, and than the game procede as normal, handling mulligans as usual (shuffle the deck and draw a new hand).

And the format doesn't have to be limited to multiplayer at all, it could also be played as a duel.

That's a good idea actually. Each player would previously build and save a deck, and then load it when joing the table/game. When drawing cards you would get a question "Would you like to draw from the LAND deck?" or something similar, like when the game asks you if would like to take a mulligan.

Though decks saved/loaded would have to be a maximum of X cards due to the fact I think that you can only have a maximum of 500 card deck. Can't remember for sure. I have played in real life with some buddies of mine with a deck that was probably over 1000 cards, not including the land deck. We had one of those long white cardboard boxes with the flip top to hold the library, then we would draw from one end of it.

If it would not be that hard to program this into MTGO I feel that it would be a popular casual format. Also, you are right, that it doesn't have to be limited to playing 3+ players. I've played countless games IRL with just one other person as well.

Lastly. You DO need 2 separate decks for the format to be playable and fun for the players playing it. It's meant to be probably the most casual format ever made for MTG. No one likes getting landscrewed and this format might have been created for that purpose alone!!!
