Red doesn't draw cards so much, it lo ots , or give the opponent an option or the same deal. There's always a downside (unless it's paired with blue). So blue and red don't really share drawing cards, but they certainly share looting , but blue's looting is better.
Your examples don't loot, they rummage. "Looting" is shorthand for "draw a card, then discard a card" (Merfolk Looter ); whereas "rummaging" is shorthand for "Discard a card: Draw a card" (Rummaging Goblin ). They're functionally different, in that when you loot, you draw first and then discard a card of your choice--possibly the card you drew--and when you rummage, you have to discard first before drawing.
No worries. I've heard that too. There's no real term for it, so you can pretty much call it whatever you want. I've seen countless games where people just assume that Rummaging Goblin loots , though, because they were told it does instead of reading the ability themselves. It's things like that that encourage accurate reading or terminology, whether it be official or unofficial.
