If someone attacked me with a 10/10 creature and I blocked with a 1/1 creature and had Palisade Giant with Ghostly Possession enchantment on the battlefield would the damage still be prevented since it originated from combat?

The answer you seek is within the Gatherer rulings entry for Palisade Giant :

10/1/2012: Applying this redirection effect doesn’t change whether the damage is combat damage.

So, the damage redirected to Palisade Giant in this scenario is still combat damage, which means that it'll be prevented after being redirected to the Giant.

Yes. Redirecting damage doesn't change whether it is combat damage, so Ghostly Possession will still prevent the damage.

you have to be careful how the redirection is worded
with Palisade Giant it is simply redirected, so it keeps all its properties
with Divine Deflection it is prevented and then dealt again, that changes its properties to the one's from Divine Deflection
