Yes that can work, the problem becomes unless you run Sublime Archangel its hard to remove exalted creatures for ones without exalted. You can add something like Vizkopa Guildmage just make sure by doing so you don't limit how fast/large your attacking creature will grow. Depending on your build adding in Nearheath Pilgrim also can make something like Knight of Glory / Knight of Infamy gain lifelink and help streamline the combo your saying. That means you won't always need to have a Vampire Nighthawk out because honestly they are prone to getting removed Murder which isn't a bad thing but unless you have a backup plan can slow you down alot. Like pzbw7z said Silverblade Paladin is a good fit in any white deck but due to the mana it needs and Vampire Nighthawk you would have to choose what way to go, for your deck I like the Vampire Nighthawk since it has deathtouch/evasion/lifelink. It also more budget friendly, if you wanna spend go for the Sublime Archangel .

For removal i'd run 4 unmake s

ive found it to be really useful to stack some regenerate effects and protection from creatures.

if you can add either skeletal grimace or spirit mantle you'll be set on defense
