Hi! I have two questions for two different cards: 1) When my Ashling, the Extinguisher  deals combat damage to an opponent can i target a creature that he controls that has shroud? 2) When i play the second ability of my Ajani Vengeant  and my opponent in response gives his creature shroud do i get the 3 life? Thanks.

1) No, you have to target the creature in the normal way.
2) No, the ability will be countered entirely.
