For Domri Rade  when he gets 4 counters on him may I essentially -7 from him and get his emblem? Or does the emblem go away if he dies?

the Emblem remains, no matter what happens to Domri in fact short of restarting the game  nothing can get rid of the Emblem

Yes, but only at sorcery timing as it is a loyalty ability. Abilities on the satck are independent of their source. Once activated, the ability will resolve no matter what happens to Domri, and it will give you the emblem, which is also not in the slightest bound to the planeswalker.
I'm a Rules Advisor now  "Simple questions" usually need rather complex answers, while complex questions often come down to no more than a simple "yes" or "no". Some of my favorite Flavor texts:

Unfortunately, VCLs do not currently have the tools necessary to take moderation actions directly. VCLs submit their actions to ORCs, who then actually perform the action. note: Domri will need 7 loyalty counters (Domri enters with 3 loyalty counters and you'd need an additional 4 more)

But perhaps the OP meant four additional counters on Domri...

Some people try to put counters on their Planeswalkers to show how much loyalty they have gained since they ETB (i.e. they have that number plus their printed loyalty). This is wrong, but people dont always realise this for themselves (although how they show loyalty lower than the starting number is a mystery to me...).

That makes no sense to me.
If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed?
