Todays GTC card to rate is...

Knight of Obligation

 Spoiler: Show

5.0
: First pick no matter what.  I will always play this card.
4.5
: Splashable and first pick worthy.
4.0
: First pick pack 1.
3.5
: Early pick though not always a first pick.
3.0
: Solid early/mid pick.
2.5
: Solid pick in color.
2.0
: Should generally make the deck if in this color.
1.5
: Decent filler.
1.0
: 23rd card if you have to.
0.5
: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in.
0.0
: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding).

This guy is pretty sweet.  He's got a huge backside being a 2/4 and vigilance is nice because he can attack if it's open and stay behind for defense which is what a lot of Orzhov decks do.

Very solid card and should be a high pick.

2.5 for me. He's a little clunky for the type of Orzhov deck I like to run. I don't think I've ever used his extort.
Limited Guidelines:

5.0: I will take this card no matter what: Pack Rat
4.5: Bomb and/or splashable creature or removal: Aetherling
4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors: Advent of the Wurm
3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Gaze of Granite
3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature: Ascended Lawmage
2.5: Solid pick in-color: Bronzebeak Moa
2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Haazda Snare Squad
1.5: My 23rd or 22nd card, depending on removal. Wake the Reflections )
1.0: 23rd card if I don't maindeck an additional land: Murmuring Phantasm
0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in: Uncovered Clues
0.0: I will shred this card for counters: Possibility Storm

I didn't like this guy when I read the set listing, but I like him now. 2/4 is really tough on Boros, and the 2 power + vigilence means your opponent will often need to hold back a blocker. I've also come to believe that extort makes pretty much any card good. I think 3.0 is fair.

I agree with this. Perfect example is vizkopa confessor . In the set listing I thought he was "crap". But putting him into action, his ability is actually "ok" and then the fact that he has extort makes him decent.

I would play pillarfield ox in Orzhov decks.  Adding extort and vigilance makes this guy great.

That art! Love this guy and will always play him in an Orzhov deck. He blocks pretty much all of Boros.

He lives up to the 4.5 description but I think a more conservative 3-3.5 is in order, he is a 4-drop after all. That said, he's one of the best of the kind (outside rare/mythic).

I'm glad to see that someone shares my love for the majestic creature that is the pillarfield ox.

I really love this card, but based on the way GTC seems to work, I would take Syndic of Tithes or Basilica Screecher higher than this just because they're 2-drops.
