Todays GTC card to rate is...

Ivy Lane Denizen

 Spoiler: Show

5.0
: First pick no matter what.  I will always play this card.
4.5
: Splashable and first pick worthy.
4.0
: First pick pack 1.
3.5
: Early pick though not always a first pick.
3.0
: Solid early/mid pick.
2.5
: Solid pick in color.
2.0
: Should generally make the deck if in this color.
1.5
: Decent filler.
1.0
: 23rd card if you have to.
0.5
: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in.
0.0
: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding).

This is in my opinion hands down the best denizen in the set.  Giving +1/+1 counters can be huge and this little guy does it well as long as you have a decent number of green creatures.

Should be a fairly high pick.

2.5-3

I think this guy is fairly powerful, at least a 3.0. My last opponent used him to give counters to his evasive creatures.

Definitely a 3.0 Sorta like the druid's familiar of the set, and that 3 toughness really helps its sticking power. In multiples this guy is crazy town.
Limited Guidelines:

5.0: I will take this card no matter what: Pack Rat
4.5: Bomb and/or splashable creature or removal: Aetherling
4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors: Advent of the Wurm
3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Gaze of Granite
3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature: Ascended Lawmage
2.5: Solid pick in-color: Bronzebeak Moa
2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Haazda Snare Squad
1.5: My 23rd or 22nd card, depending on removal. Wake the Reflections )
1.0: 23rd card if I don't maindeck an additional land: Murmuring Phantasm
0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in: Uncovered Clues
0.0: I will shred this card for counters: Possibility Storm

How is this at all like druid's familiar?

DF was a 4/4 when it came down, that, when it came down, gave something a giant strength .  This durdles around and, if you didn't topdeck it, and have other creatures in hand, can make something bigger later.

I don't have an egosig because I'd rather my ideas be judged on their merits than on mine.

I should've qualified that: I've played this in Simic casual sealed/draft decks and had this trigger evolve, then add extra counter when later evolve-triggering creatures came down, or even when I topdeck a Spire Tracer. Though this doesn't add 6 p/t to the board for 4, even without evolve this will probably add 4p/5t to the board if it sticks. Close enough to "sorta like [x]" for my tastes. If this was exactly like DF I'd rank it a 3.5.

Very solid card in any green deck. I'd go 3.0 as well.

2.5 is probably closer to where I'm at. It's really solid but not exceptional.

2.5 - certainly one of the better ones, but also the slowest one.

I like most of the Denizins (Sage's Row is kind of bad and Foundry Street is more marginal), but this may be my favorite.  It doesn't give you the quick yet lategame relevant boost of Shadow Alley, and perhaps lacks the broad utility of Court Street, but it makes up for that in, frankly, raw power.  Out of all the Denizins, this is the only one that permanently improves your position when it triggers.

If I'm Simic, I want to have one or two, because having it on the field means that topdecking Experiment One rather than Adaptive Snapjaw in the late game isn't a total whiff -- it still pumps at least one creature.  2/3 is also a sweet spot for Evolve, as it evolves EVERY evolve creature for their first hit, and essentially half (6/11) for their second.

Gruul likes it slightly less, because Gruul's higher slots are marginally more jammed, and gruul is rewarded for not casting all its green creatures: as such, they get less use out of the denizin, whish is not to say they get none.

a respectable 2.5

This guy is good, I think Sage Row is the best though.

3 mana 3 toughness and the milling is often non-trivial.

I don't like this in Gruul and think it's only ok in Simic.

2.5 as the counters can be timely.

3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Ground Assault
3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature. Creatures 3-9, removal 1-3. Kingpin's Pet
2.5: Solid pick in-color; creatures 5-12, removal 3-5. Mugging
2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Act of Treason
