I have decided to make a commander deck, and I have a few cards I was thinking of making it around. I have a few choices out of the cards I have, tell me what you think would be best for it, why, and what I would need for it.

The good:
Mayael the anima

The illegal:
rofellos, llanowar emissary

The eccentric:
Sisters of stone death

The dead:
Volrath the fallen

I might post more choices later.

Mayael the Anima is an excellent choice if you like crazy big beaters and neat library manipulation.

Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary ; if you can find a group willing to let him be played then you just want alot of really great 6-8 drops because you're going to hit them real early. You're also going to want alot of draw and possibly some disruption to keep your lead.

Sisters of Stone Death ; easily my least favorite general on your list. My first problem is I really dislike generals that cost more than 6 mana. If they die you don't cast again until you have 10. It's just way too mana intensive for me to feel useful on any level.

Volrath the Fallen is seriously underrated as a general. Make a good stuff deck, getting in incidental general damage all while reanimating your creatures. This deck also wants alot of draw.

Mayael or Volrath.

Mayael you'll want to run things like Sensei's Divining Top and Sylvan Library .

Volrath is the easier to build. Fatties and Animate Dead s, Living Death type stuff.

i just made a volrath. the list is on here. it looks to be pretty fun, haven't played it yet though. being mono black it will have a hard time dealing with artifact and enchantment heavy decks.

It's mostly a voltron idea...pitch beef to volrath, make him big, and hopefully have something like whispersilk cloak or intimidation out to get him through.

I personally wouldn't use any of those. But I guess that's the beauty of this format! Or something!

This. Also, if you go Mayeal, Scroll Rack will be worth every cent it costs you (if you don't already have one). Nothing is worst than drawing a fattie you wanted to find with Mayeal

Pretty much anything with 2 or 3 colors, and at least one of those colors being blue or black. Green is also nice.

This makes it easier to make something usable even with a limited collection of EDH-relevant cards. A lot of times it's hard ot make your first EDH deck mono-colored just because you will end up including a bunch of janky cards just to fill in 99 slots.

Mayael and sisters are both bad IMO because they are obnoxiously cumbersome and mana-intensive.

Something like any of the legendary 3-color dragons from planar chaos would be easy, give you a lot of deckbuilding flexibility and wouldn't break the bank.
