Todays final GTC card to rate is... Hold the Gates Spoiler:
Show
5.0: First pick no matter what. I will always play this card. 4.5: Splashable and first pick worthy. 4.0: First pick pack 1. 3.5: Early pick though not always a first pick. 3.0: Solid early/mid pick. 2.5: Solid pick in color. 2.0: Should generally make the deck if in this color. 1.5: Decent filler. 1.0: 23rd card if you have to. 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. 0.0: I will never put this card into my deck (main deck or after sideboarding).
This card is fine. I thought it was an instant or sorcery at first so I thought it sucked but being an enchantment and always at least granting vigilance makes this card playable in my mind. Not a high pick but a playable one. 2 Discuss!

Not exactly what I want to be doing on turn three. I could see it being useful in Orzhov grindy extort decks though.

I'm assuming it's a matter of taste or my preferred play style but I doubt I will ever run this card.
It could come in handy, it could actually help you win/survive, extort, but it's outside of the way I like to play cards.
My enchantments (in limited) usually need to make beatsticks or have a different effect than this.
1.0
bulletd Guidelines: 5.0: I will take this card no matter what. Creature 1 or playable 1 or hate 1. Domri Rade 4.5: Bomb and splashable. Creature 1-2, playable 1-2, removal 1. Obzedat, Ghost Council 4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors. Creatures 1-4, removal 1. Rubblehulk 3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Ground Assault 3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature. Creatures 3-9, removal 1-3. Kingpin's Pet 2.5: Solid pick in-color; creatures 5-12, removal 3-5. Mugging 2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Act of Treason 1.5: My 23rd or 22nd card, depending on removal. Gutter Skulk 1.0: 23rd card if I don't maindeck an additional land. Mental Vapors 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. Shattering Blow 0.0: I will shred this card for counters. Frenzied tilling

It's not the sort of card I would play unless I really had to. Possibly in an orzhov, yeah. I have faced this card once, vs a boros and I was orzhov, we were board stalled and I was extorting him down. This card did literally nothing for my opponent.

Something in the 1.5 range seems right. Vigilience by itself isn't helpful enough to warrant its inclusion, so you'd need a high concentration of guildgates before you'd be happy playing this card.

Defo a 1.0 for me. Really reaching for a .5 as there aren't that many gates to go around, and you're potentially missing quality cards to pick a gate to support a crap card that doesn't help you win. This helps you stall at BEST.

serra's blessing was always trash, and castle could make 1.5, but the dependacy on gates holds this back to a 1.0.
