I'm wrapping up finals this week, so I'll probably get to the judge votes some time tonight or tomorrow. But in the meantime, I figured something fun to do FREE FOR ALL We've seen a lot of black zombies before, but less so with green, and I figured some of you probably had lots of excess ideas for more gold or even mono-green zombies. Go nuts. |

Congratulations, you've found My Lie Policy: Only when i'm prompted, i might lie. (policy still in the refinement process.)
I am both rational and instinctive. I value self-knowledge and understanding of the world; my ultimate goal is self-improvement and improvement of the world around me. At best, I am focused and methodical; at worst, I am obsessive and amoral.

Cannibal Mulch Creature - Plant Zombie At the beginning of your upkeep, put the top card of your library into your graveyard. If it's a creature card, put a +1/+1 counter on Cannibal Mulch. If it's a land card, at the beginning of your precombat main phase, add to your mana pool. 1/1

Vile Rooter Creature - Zombie TreefolkExile a creature card from your graveyard: Vile Rooter gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Water does not quench its thirst, the sun it will not grow. 1/1 Fungal Spores Creature - Zombie FungusWhen a creatures dies, put a growth counter on Fungal Spores. When Fungal Spores dies, put a 1/1 green and black zombie creature token onto the battlefield for each growth counter on Fungal Spores. Mindlessly it searches for fresh corpses to take root and animate.1/1 I wanted to say "when ~ dies put a token copy of ~ onto the battlefield for each growth counter on it" but I think that might be too powerful? Zombie Horde Creature - ZombieZombie Horde costs less for each Zombie Horde you control. A deck can have any number of Zombie Hordes. 3/3 I wish I could say I designed that last card, but it was an entry that Fenix entered for the Elephant Rat round of my Simic contest. It just seemed like a no-brainer to include for a Zombie Horde (can you believe the name Zombie Horde hasn't been used? I was stunned.) Now just for some fun zombies, even though I can't actually justify putting green in the cost. Flesh Biter Creature - Zombie When Flesh Biter deals combat damage to a creature put a plague counter on that creature. When a creature with a plague counter dies, put it onto the battlefield from its owners graveyard under you control. It is a black zombie instead of its normal color and types. 3/3

These cards are Ball Tightening.
Perfect originality is overrated and often ugly. The best and most beautiful cards I've ever seen were clearly inspired by something else.
Cards are not entirely unlike living organisms in this regard. All the good ones are a result of long evolution; the 'original' ones are either monocellular or mutant aberrations.
Graveborn are strictly better than Zombies. I mean, look at that wicked beard . You try growing that when your dead. And I know aging fellows who are suffering from Male Pattern Baldness, who would kill for a Mop like Ribsy's over there.
Hey Dudibus, I can't take you seriously until you take your shirt off!

The idea of zombie trees just didn't connect with me, for some reason. It seemed like much narrower flavor space than the U and B zombies had. While puzzling over this problem I eventually hit on the idea of bog mummies, ancient druidic rites, and a dark, buried, pagan past. Dessicated Druid Creature--Human Zombie Druid Morbid--Whenever a creature dies, you may search your library for a forest or swamp card, shuffle your library, then put that card on top. With every death, the Bog spreads outward.2/2 Mound Wight Creature--Human Zombie Druid When ~ enters the battlefield, target opponent sacrifices an artifact, enchantment, or land they control. They built a cottage on an old, stone-dotted hill, never realizing the original inhabitants stillslumbered in the soil.4/4 Witch's Cairn Enchantment At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice a nontoken creature. If you do, put X 2/2 green Zombie creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is the sacrificed creature's toughness.
