While not quite the same monster from before, this combination still remains strong I feel. I resisted the temptation to play Jund control, feeling the splash for pillar and spear weren't worth it. So here goes nothing: The Rock(s) 4x deathrite shaman 4x geralf's messenger 4x vampire nighthawk 1x griselbrand The Millions 4x appetite for brains 4x abrupt decay 4x devour flesh 3x sign in blood 4x mental agony 3x garruk, primal hunter 1x vraska, the unseen Land 4x overgrown tomb 4x woodland cemetary 2x golgari guildgate 1x grim backwoods 8x swamp 5x forest Sb --meta dependant-- I couldn't decide if I wanted to be aggressive, controlly, or midrange. I chose a more midrange approach as it has better matchups across a wider range of games. Early discard or shaman sets the tone of the game. Follow up t2 with a hefty removal suite. T3 we outmatch the enemy drops with ours. T4 we get another hand up with some discard+tempo with mental agony - you could go gruesome discovery if you think you can get some morbid action. I chose the tempo gain from the life loss. T5 we drop garruk and start token madness or emergency draw if needed. A single vraska may give way to a 4th garruk. Such a tank. If all else fails, stall and draw until you hit g-money and break it open. Rough first build but it's playing pretty sweet right now. You can survive early rush aggro thru discard and removal, while regaining life thru shaman and nighthawk, You can win the midrange fight with dudes+removal, and the control win comes thru subbing in heavy discard. May or may not need a CoS depending on your meta. Would LOVE a way to recur the nighthawk-almost wanted an undying evil or 2 just for him. Love him. Well that's it for now. I'm open to pointers

messenger seems terrible.
farseek probably needs to be here.
mind rot is better than the other discard spell you have. the cheaper mana is far, far more relevant than the 2 life loss.
Blue is the best color ever. How do you deal? Team GFG - "gulf, foxtrot, gulf" Twitter: Burning_Forest ------------------------------------------------------ I started making some Dubstep and Electronica. Iunno, I think Garruk, Primal Hunter should be your Rock, and you should alter sock puppets onto your Deathrite Shaman s to "forge the Rock and Sock connection". I'd actually consider a couple of Jarad's Orders and Dreg Mangler s. I don't think Mental Agony is worth playing in multiples. I happen to like Slaughterhorn and Triumph of Ferocity in these sorts of decks, but that's a matter of preferance. I've also enjoyed a couple of mainboard Ground Seal s which might be bad with Deathrite, but when he's bad they're great. Above all else though, I think you need a few easier sources of CA that don't put you on -3 your Garruks everytime you play them just to have gas or pile on shock damage with Sign in Blood .

4x Arbor Elf 3x Boarderland Ranger 3x Vampire Nighthawk 2x Deadbridge Goliath 3x Garruk, Primal Hunter 4x Lilliana of the Veil 3x Triumph of Ferocity 4x Appetite for Brains 3x Mind Rot 3x Abrupt Decay 3x Devour Flesh 3x Mutilate 4x Overgrown Tomb 4x Woodland Cemetery 3x Forests 12x Swamps Really would like some treetop villages back in standard . . . and Mutilate is probably a stretch, it could be more spot removal or sign in blood.

Red gives you:
Pillar of Flame Searing Spear Olivia Voldaren Huntmaster of the Fells Bonfire of the damned Mizzium Mortars Rakdos's return Rakdos Keyrune Dreadbore
You would be splashing for a sure sight more than just a couple burn spells.
