Hello, everybody. As mentioned in the title, I'm pretty new to the standard environment, and I would like some deck help. Here's what I've got thus far:

Total (60 x )

Land (25 x )
2 x Evolving Wilds
3 x Kessig Wolf Run
4 x Stomping Ground
4 x Rootbound Crag
7 x Forest
5 x Mountain

Creatures (19 x )
4 x Arbor Elf
4 x Ghor-Clan Rampager
4 x Wolfir Silverheart
4 x Soul of the Harvest
3 x Giant Adephage

Sorceries (8 x )
4 x Farseek
4 x Mizzium Mortars

Enchantments (4 x )
4 x Rancor

Planeswalkers (4 x )
2 x Domri Rade
2 x Garruk, Primal Hunter

Sideboard (15 x )
4 x Fog
3 x Gruul Charm
2 x Naturalize
3 x Pit Fight
3 x Skullcrack

Some problems I have with this deck are that I seem to have a lack of answers to anything, especially aggro. I'd also like some help constructing an actual sideboard, as opposed to the cards I have cobbled together now, and fixing my mana curve.

Lastly, I'd like to keep this as cheap as possible. (Dual-lands are a goal to aspire to, not a reality. Feel free to suggest temporary replacements.)

Thanks for any help you're willing to give, as well as for putting up with another noob with a poorly made deck. :P
If anyone is willing to give feedback on either decks or cards I've made, please pm me or post in the thread (should it exist). It would be much appreciated.

8 x Plains

Creatures(27 x )
4 x Dutiful Thrull
4 x Thrull Parasite
4 x High Priest of Penance
2 x Basilica Screecher
3 x Basilica Guards
3 x Kingpin's Pet
4 x Crypt Ghast
4 x Guardian of the Gateless

Other Spells(11 x )
3 x Blind Obedience
4 x Murder
2 x Orzhov Charm

Sideboard(15 x )
4 x Knight of Obligation
1 x Blind Obedience
3 x One Thousand Lashes
3 x Necrobite
2 x Orzhov Charm
2 x Immortal Servitude

This is the deck I'm most interested in improving at the moment. I'd like to keep it cheaper. Dual lands are in there as a goal to work to, so they don't count really. Other than that, just keep it standard legal.

"Cards & Mechanics" Show

"Parasitic Horror" Show

Parasitic Horror
Creature - Horror (R)
As an additional cost to Parasitic Horror, pay X life.
Parasitic Horror enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters. If Parasitic Horror entered the battlefield with 5 or more +1/+1 counters, it has lifelink.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may double the number of +1/+1 counters on Parasitic Horror. If you do, you lose life equal to its power.
0/0

Very much unsure of the CMC for this one, and I am also under the impression that it sucks. Hard.

"Double Agent" Show

Double Agent
Creature - Human Rogue (U)
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you are not Double Agent's owner, discard a card and Double Agent's owner draws a card.
Infiltrate 2 (Pay . Double Agent enters the battlefield under target opponent's control.)
Who is he really working for?
2/1

Unsure of CMC and wording, as well as rarity.

Infiltrate X (Pay X. CARDNAME enters the battlefield under target opponent's control.)

Well first of all... That isn't 60 cards... it's only 52.

Drop the Adephages and 1 domri to add in 4 [C]Elvish Archdruid[C], ramp is gonna be very important to you. Also, I'd say drop the other domri rade as well along with 2 land to play your 3 gruul charms.

T1 Land + Arbor Elf, T2 Land + Archdruid, T3 Land + Soul of the Harvest. T4 silverheart and blood rush the rampager onto Soul. Swing for 12 trample. Of course, that's with a perfect hand and not being forced to cast any of your other spells.

Domri Rade doesn't seem to have a place in this deck the Soul covers his +1 pretty well, and his -2 is good but not really unnecessary in this deck until late game. But hopefully you will have them beat a lot sooner then later.

Those are the major changes I would make but over all I like the deck, I'm not a huge fan of gruul but this is definitely very playable in standard right now.  I went ahead and just made a whole new deck list based off of your with the changes I was talking about along with some other cards added in as well.

Land
2 x Evolving Wilds
2 x Kessig Wolf Run
4 x Stomping Ground
4 x Rootbound Crag
8 x Forest
4 x Mountain
Creatures
4 x Arbor Elf
4 x Elvish Visionary
4 x Elvish Archdruid
4 x Ghor-Clan Rampager
4 x Wolfir Silverheart
4 x Soul of the Harvest
Other Spells
4 x Skullcrack
4 x Rancor
4 x Gruul Charm

any deck running 7 drop creatures AND rancor is not doing something correct
Blue is the best color ever.  How do you deal?

Rancor is to swing with the elves late game if your still not getting through. Everything pretty much has trample already except the elves. So it just helps out a lot late game.

i did help.  i pointed out the obvious.

decks shouldn't run creatures that cost 7 mana AND run rancor.  if you have a deck doing this, you're making a mistake in your deckbuilding process.  re-evaluate.

if this was to become truly competetive, then i'd direct him to any number of recent R/G aggro lists that have come out in the last week or 2.  there are plenty via google, the mothership, or something like SCG/CFB.

It seems that I forgot all of my sorceries... Added them into the OP.

I'll see about the Adephages and Domri vs the Archdruid, though Farseek does help, and I'm a little wary of removing trample creatures, since that is sort of this deck's focus.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I did originally have Clan defiance, but it got removed to make room. :/
Thragtusk, while awesome, doesn't really seem to fit. I was aiming for trample as a means of winning, and I've just loved silverheart's ability to hugely buff my tramplers that I didn't want to cut it. Thanks for the help.

My deckbuilding process is very flawed. I'm new, and so don't really know the best ways of going about making a deck quite yet. Please feel free to help me get better.

Also, this isn't supposed to be super competitive, just able to hold its own and take a win every now and then.

Lastly, I don't like googling decks, because while it does help me find which cards are good, it doesn't really help me learn why. That's why I came here, where people more often than not explain their choices and suggestions. Thanks for the advice though.

honestly, the best learning tool is to go out and play.  go to FNM, ask questions, get advice from people in person.  i think it's difficult to convey the ideas over the internet, but if you can see things working in person, they'll be much more impactful on you.  there should be enough people at any given FNM who are more than happy to answer questions, give advice, make suggestions, tell you play situations, etc.

worked for me anyways
