Hi guys,
Am I correct in my belief that if a creature has both deathtouch and trample that assigning one damage to each blocker will be considered lethal and allow the rest of the damage to go through? A certain troll and peddler would like to know.

Any damage from a source with deathtouch is considered lethal. You may assign 1 damage to each blocking creature (provided sufficient power) and trample over with the remaining damage (if any), or assign more to any blocking creatures if you wanted to. This would apply even if the creature has some sort of damage prevention effect, such as protection - the creature just won't take the damage.

You are correct.

1 damage is considered lethal from a creature with deathtouch, so if you have say...a 5/5 deathtouch trampler facing down a field of four opposing 5/5s, you can assign 1 damage to each of them and then 1 damage to your opponent.

Note: Prior to the M11 changes, it didn't use to work that way, so players not current with the rules may think that there's no interaction between deathtouch and trample
