Theres really no nee to worry about it unless your printer can print a very convincing copy so much so that people want to buy the cards off of you. You moght eventually get arrested for fraud if enough people were duped by these home-made wonders.

But just remember, proxy is a far cry from counterfeit. I would never consider worrying.

It's illegal in the sense of copyright infringement, but WotC has zero history of pursuing anyone for personal proxies (as opposed to counterfeiting).

It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.

It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

The real question here should be: "does it seem reasonable that you should be able to test something out to make sure you actually want it before wasting a large sum of money on it?".

When I tried that defense, the silly judge told me that it was STILL illegal for me to take an AH-64 Apache helicopter for a joyride.  I don't get it - it's not like anyone was using it that day.  And how else was I supposed to know if it was worth buying?

Even accepting your absurd example, if you actually were going to buy a helicopter from someone, they would certainly let you make sure it works.  Just like you wouldnt buy a car from a dealership that refuses to let you take a test drive before signing the paperwork.

In this case you wouldnt even be riding in the actual helicopter.  Suggesting people shouldnt use proxies for testing is like saying you cant even make a scale model of the helicopter to determine how aerodynamic it is before paying for it.

Careful with that kind of talk! WotC's hit squad came to my house and punched me in the face, kicked my dog and poured a gallon of milk out in the middle of my kitchen floor for printing 3 Assassin Tokens to use with Vraska last month. It was Vitamin D milk too, the good stuff! They know......

It's the death penalty. Seriously. Not even joking. A local kid got caught last year, now he's on death row waiting for the chair. They take this stuff seriously. Way too seriously.
