I've made two standard, "themed" decks recently and they're both great imo. One's a B/U grimgrin deck and the other is a B/G corpsejack counters, and as much as i feel they adhere to a theme i made sure they included a tight loop of card-interaction so that i have as many answers as possible for whatever may arise.
Theme decks are far from impossible, but its necessary to do your card-searching homework in order to find what you can feasibly field and what will make that startegy unstoppable.

I have made a W/U Aggro Enchantment deck, but my friend that plays Grixis Control simply Searing Spear or Ultimate Price the creatures I try to keep out for more than a turn. Seeking help, I ask a dfferent friend of mine what I should probably do to have it so the deck can have a fighting chance. He says for me to take apart both my W/U control deck, and my W/U Aggro deck, and simply take the best cards from both and make a deck. He says there is no point in building around one thing, and a deck should simply have your best cards for that color in it. Then again, he builds new decks every other day whereas I choose simply to modify a few that I have.
TL:DR: Is there no point in centering a deck around something?
Look into hexproof creatures for your enchantment deck.

^Good point, invisible stalker is your friend here, with enchants and hexproof he's more likely to get through.

Aven Fleetwing , Elgaud Shieldmate , Lone Revenant , and Angelic Overseer are other hexproof options you can consider in WU. (Also Lord of the Unreal and Drogskol Captain , but those only work if you're in the appropriate tribals.) Mizzium Skin or counter spells if you just want to stop the burn/kill instead. Also consider Privileged Position , Mask of Avacyn , Ring of Evos Isle , Slippery Bogle , and Swiftfoot Boots .

you should always build a deck around a central theme or strategy. all decks have their strengths and weaknesses, and some decks are better against others etc...if somebody's deck is giving you that much grief...use another deck!!! also, sideboards help too even if you play casually. you notice the same thing is troubling you over amd over? pop in a few cards from the sideboard and take out whatever you dont need
"so let's set the world on fiiiiire...we can burn brighter...than the suuuuun." My Colors
