so if the enchament specifically said,"The enchanted creature has lifelink." I would live. Are they going to change any of the wording on these older cards, have they already, or are we to look for the specific word lifelink and everything else is a triggered or activated ability?

They are not going to change the wording on the older cards because they don't want to change how they work. Only the word "lifelink" indicates actual lifelink; all the other similar variants on old cards are triggered abilities.

The only old card that received errata to change it to lifelink is Loxodon Warhammer , for reasons complex enough I don't really want to get into them here.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

The case of Loxodon Warhammer isn't that complicated, really. It was originally printed with the old "lifelink" ability. When the lifelink keyword was initially created, it was identical to the triggered version. Between the introduction of lifelink as a keyword and the change to its functionality, Loxodon Warhammer was reprinted. When lifelink was changed, it became functionally different from the old triggered version. Any card whose most recent printing had the triggered version kept that functionality and lost the lifelink keyword. Since Loxodon Warhammer's most recent printing had the lifelink keyword, it got to keep lifelink.

The most obvious difference is that you can put Soul Link on an opponent's creature and you will gain the life whenever his creature deals damage. Changing the text to lifelink would alter this functionality quite significantly.
