Hi folks,

Having some fun with this deck, built largely around Consuming Aberration . While as a control deck it can function on its own until it gets mr Consuming-wincon, the wincon does pretty much... well, win the game.

If anyone has any suggestions on another wincon that would suit thematically, by all means I'm open to them. Sewer Nemesis would fit the bill as slightly weaker Aberrations, but as another 4 drop it'd be hard to squeeze it in.

The All Consuming

// Lands - 25
4 x Polluted Delta
3 x Island
4 x Drowned Catacomb
1 x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 x Sunken Ruins
1 x Swamp
4 x Watery Grave
4 x Reflecting Pool
Pretty standard landsuite. Could probably afford to include 4x Creeping Tar Pit as an alternate wincon, but the beauty of the current suite is that they can all usually come in untapped.

// Creatures - 8
4 x Dimir Cutpurse
4 x Consuming Aberration
Went with the Cutpurse over Shadowmage Infiltrator mainly due to the discard - if it hits, ensures that Aberration will be able to be cast immediately. Could have just gone with a Specter, but I primarily wanted the draw to ensure I kept getting fuel. Aberration is a beefy beater himself, and milling out is a real possibility with spells that get multi-cast.

// Noncreatures - 28
3 x Raven's Crime
4 x Mark of Eviction
4 x Night's Whisper
4 x Counterspell
3 x Reality Acid
3 x Leyline of Anticipation
4 x Consuming Vapors
3 x Reality Strobe
Raven's Crime means late game, I can turn land into mill. Mark of Eviction is repeatable, non-card-disadvantage bounce, and works so well with Leyline of Anticipation. Reality Acid as at worst it's slow removal that can hit anything, and at best it synergises with Reality Strobe for repeatable vindicate and repeatable casts. Reality Strobe is a free spell every 3 turns. Consuming Vapors is card advantage, works very well with Leyline, and triggers Aberration twice. Leyline is very, very useful in the deck, and I have 3 to increase my odds of getting it in the opening hand - but I can't bring myself to run 4, given that beyond the first they're pretty much redundant.

So there you have it!

I'm all about super-control in MTG. If you're able to stop my shenanigans, then there aren't enough shenanigans.

With abberations ability, and mill being such a strong option, jace, memory adept is nice. And then stuff as many phyrexian mana spells in as you can. Free spells for life? Umm yes and yes. Mill em out sooo fast.

EDIT: a singleton mind grind would help you finish

crucible of worlds would be fun with Ravens Crime.
But i cant help but think that 1) you could do with some actual mill cards. Archive Trap could work well if your up against any kind of deck with tutors or land grabs.
thought 2) is that this will do pretty badly against a deck with a low number of creatures. again, more mill might sort that out
