Ok, so this combo hit me the other day and I began to wonder how plausible it would be. High Priest of Penance  Izzet Staticaster  Cavern of Souls  It seems viable to get the priest out turn two, some form of pump on him ( Ethereal Armor  , splash green?), then start annihilating the board on turn 4. Looking mainly at Standard, but not opposed to other formats. Do you think this is a viable combo?

I really want to see it work, but going four colors for something this shaky doesn't seem competitive. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I don't see how you could get that working by turn 4. Although if you could get all of that on the table by turn 4, and if you splashed green you should throw in Spirit of Resistance  Maybe White/Black/Red with: Pyroconvergence  and Pursuit of Flight  or anything that adds +2 to its defence

T1, Cavern of Souls declare Human T2, Swamp  or Plains  or Cavern, cast Priest. T3, Mountain  or Island  or Cavern, cast Staticaster or Pump Priest T4, cast either pump or Staticaster. Since the Staticaster has haste he can tap to damage the Priest. It's a little clunky, but doable in several different ways. I like your Pyroconvergence option though. Slower, but more stable...and still standard legal after Cavern drops out of rotation.

You could go with Olivia Voldaren  as the pinger instead of staticaster. Not a human for cavern but only three colors and repeatable depending on the pump effect. Mask of Avacyn  or Ring of Xathrid  are good options for pump as they also help protect the combo pieces.

Oh nice, I like that. Having four Priest on the board for the Staticaster was a lofty goal anyways.

It looks like Olivia or Chandra would be the best bets. They are threats on their own in addition to the High Priest oxyclean removal plan. I'm definitely gonna make a casual deck with the Priest, the Staticaster, Followed Footsteps  and Bad Moon  ...just because.
