If you are one of the first people voting for a card please don't simply say something like "bomber" or "corps", etc. That's not very helpful for this topic. If everything has been said that's one thing, but one of the points was to generate discussion on all the picks.
For people that are voting after much has been said please ignore.
But I'd really like to see some people get less lazy with their posts.
bulletd Guidelines: 5.0: I will take this card no matter what. Creature 1 or playable 1 or hate 1. Domri Rade 4.5: Bomb and splashable. Creature 1-2, playable 1-2, removal 1. Obzedat, Ghost Council 4.0: Excellent first pick first pack, will sway me into same colors. Creatures 1-4, removal 1. Rubblehulk 3.5: Excellent first pack pick two, will confirm colors or possibly sway into second color. Ground Assault 3.0: Good in-color addition, or splashable removal/creature. Creatures 3-9, removal 1-3. Kingpin's Pet 2.5: Solid pick in-color; creatures 5-12, removal 3-5. Mugging 2.0: Creatures 10-16; removal 6-7. Act of Treason 1.5: My 23rd or 22nd card, depending on removal. Gutter Skulk 1.0: 23rd card if I don't maindeck an additional land. Mental Vapors 0.5: This card will sometimes be sideboarded in. Shattering Blow 0.0: I will shred this card for counters. Frenzied tilling

Well, I did intend to write something about picking BC, but all I could think of was "Obvious pick", which isn't helpful either in understanding my choice. But I really don't think, any of the other cards can compare or makes sense here, nor can I really explain, why I feel BC is the right pick. Sometimes I just go with a gut feeling.
I'm a Rules Advisor now "Simple questions" usually need rather complex answers, while complex questions often come down to no more than a simple "yes" or "no". Some of my favorite Flavor texts:

Fair enough, but some of the more thoughtful drafters are just being lazy. I think they sometimes forget that easy picks to them might be difficult for others.

Act of Treason - if we keep the battalion theme going, this can do a lot for us. We can either grab a blocker, or even turn on battalion when they aren't expecting it. Only other options that I really see here is Zarichi Tiger, but Act of Treason is much better for this deck.
Act of Treason it is.

Reasonable cards include the disciple of the old ways , act of treason , and devour flesh . Nothing very compelling here, and no reason not to take the on color act of treason.

I thnk the Tiger might be alright, but I am happier with the Act.

act of treason , it plays nicely with battalion in more than one way (enables, snatches a blocker, gives some reach)

Act of treason. Add a creature for batallion and remove a blocker.
