Just got curious, don't even remember why I started thinking about this. But is there a way to get an attacking creature without actually declaring an attacker in a declare attackers step? I don't mean Hero of Bladehold or the like, as you still need to declare that creature as attacker first, I mean no declaration of any attackers at all. Also, no un-cards .

Well, since you discounted the Turbo Slug, no.  Everything I can think of that would make a creature attack without declaring it as an attacker is because of an effect, usually triggered by an attacking creature, which you would have had to declare.

I don't think that is quite what rezzahan meant.  I think rezzahan is looking for a card like Flash Foliage but in reverse: something that puts an attacking creature onto the battlefield without having a trigger that triggers upon a creature being declared as an attacker.

I don't think any such card in the non-Un realms currently exists.

the problems with such cards is that you could have an attacking creature outside of your own turn
that's why none exist

"Cast this spell only during your declare attackers step"

Cards with similar timing restrictions exist.
