In addition to being a high-ranking player of Magic: the Gathering, it was interesting to learn that he worked on the design of the Duel Masters TCG (closely related to Magic) and on a competitive TCG, Inazuma Eleven.
Incidentally, a Google search has turned up no information on what could have caused him to pass away at such a young age.
Coming up with weird ideas to make everyone happy since 2008! I have now started a blog as an appropriate place to put my crazy ideas.

Sorry, But how did Itaru Ishida died?
I have no idea, but given the fact that no one seems comfortable mentioning how he died, it seems likely to have been suicide. You know, if it was suicide, it doesn't demean him or his death to mention that fact.
