Pretty new to the game, but looking to make a tournament worthy deck.  G/R aggro has had my liking since I started playing.  Any suggestions on what I should switch?  My sideboard isn't made, so any suggestions on that would be great.

4x Flinthoof Boar
4x Strangleroot Geist
3x Borderland Ranger
2x Huntmaster of the Fells
4x Hellrider
4x Thragtusk
2x Wolfir Silverheart

2x Garruk Relentless

4x Pillar of Flame
4x Searing Spear
4x Abundant Growth

4x Rootbound Crag
2x Kessig Wolf Run
11x Forest
6x Mountain

Sideboard:

2x Aerial Predation/Plummet (Thinking AP because of the life return for aggro races)
2x Naturalize
3x Rancor
1x Ground Seal
1x Bonfire of the Damned

Thraktusk and Silverheart look a little more at home in a mid-range deck.  I'd probably make room for 4 Arbor Elf (-4 Boar).  Definitly invest in 4 Stomping Ground as you'll be able to use them after this weekend (cards are legal as of their pre-release, the new stuff just can't be bought until release, but reprints are fair game).  I'd also MD the Rancor (-3 Ranger, -1 Growth).  Farseek is better manafixing/ramp than Growth, so +4 Farseek for -3 Growth, -1 Hellrider.

Wouldn't Silverheart fit into more of the green heavy deck?  Is Hellkite really that better than him?

I'll have to start testing the Farseek over the Abundant Growth.

I figure the Arbor Elf will help bring out more creatures sooner, so I'll try to make some room for him.

Why Wolfir Avenger?

Any suggestions for the sideboard?

Don't use any ramp, what so ever. You're a aggro deck not midrange.

Now, for your 1st question:

Silverheart is vaulnerable for a turn, while hellkite isn't. Hellkite can get past fliers and swing for 5 right away. So yes. There's a reason why he's 40 a piece at the moment.

Why the Avenger? Because, you can T2 flash him in then play a hellrider then swing for pretty freaking close to lethal. Or just flash him in as a blocker, the situations that his flash has are endless. Did I forget to mention he can BLOODY REGENERATE!?

Did you even think about splashing a tiny bit of black for MB dreadbores and SB material like Slaughter games, Rakdos's return, etc? It's worked wonders for me. All you'd need are 4 overgrown tombs.

Yeah, I see your point on the ramp, so I'm going to take them out and see where that leads me.

I'll have to pick up Hellkites because I don't have them, so I'll try them once I get them.

Only found one Avenger in my collection, so I'll see about getting more of those.

Can you give me a fixed deck list of the black splash that you used?

Sure thing here's the list and SB.

Creatures: 24
Arbor Elf
Experiment One
4 Strangleroot Geist
3 Wolfir Avenger
3 Hellrider
3 Huntmaster of the Fells
2 Thragtusk
2 Thundermaw Hellkite

Spells: 13
3 Pillar of Flame
3 Searing Spear
Bonfire of the Damned
Dreadbore
3 Rancor

 Land: 23
3 Cavern of Souls (2 is ok, but for my meta which has alot of UW flash I need 3)
3 Forest
3 Mountain
4 Rootbound Crag
4 Stomping Ground
4 Overgrown Tomb
2 Kessig Wolfrun

SB:
3 Deathrite Shaman (SB these in exchange for the Experiment One against reanimator)
Skullcrack (SB these in exchange for Spears/Pillar against control)
3 Slaughter Games  (Self explanatory.)
2 Rakdos's Return (SB these in for control)
2 Mizzium Mortars (SB these in against other aggro match ups)
1 Zealous Conscripts  (Against control or Reanimator)
1 Dreadbore (SB these against reanimator or control)

The ideal turns go like this.

T1 Arbor elf/Experiment One
T2 Strangleroot
T3 Wolfir Avenger/Hellrider
T4 Thundermaw, swing for the GGs.

If you were to buy the exact deck as is from scratch it'd be 300-400 dollars.

Thanks, I'll try to see what I can make of this deck and see how it runs.

With Arbor Elf, would it still be worth it since I'm not running very many forests?

With this deck half or close to half of your lands ARE forests. So you should be able to make use out of the arbor elf. So yes.

So as long as they're green, they'll be able to be used by it?
