With Shahrazad  do you play two games at once? Or start a new game entirely? Also, along with this, do Panoptic Mirror  and Cast Through Time  work outside of the subgames?

You leave your current game as it is, and start a separate game. The subgame has its own set of zones. Cards in the subgame cannot affect cards in the main game, with the exception of cards which refer to cards "outside the game"  .
