Hi there I had a few questions that came up this week.

1. I have a primordial Hydra and I play Cacling Counterpart on her while she have 8 counters on it, when I played a clone or cacling counterpart when they make a copy of the hydra they copy as well all the counters already on her?

2. I have several Elfs and I have Golgari´s Decoy and I attack with all my creatures he plays an instant that gives all his creatures protection from non human creatures, he claimed that with this he negates the Golgari´s decoy and he can block any creature he wants, i stated that even if he had protection from creatures he must block golgary with all his creatures because he is not targeting so the other creatures hit him, after a quite discussion I let him go his way as anyways I won that game, but I just want to make sure that I am right on this one.

3. I have a creature with Soulbound that gives Doublestrike while paired with another creature, then I play a new creature with soulbound, (souldbound: You may pair this creature with another uppaired creature when EITHER enters the battlefield. They remain paired for as long you control both creatures), the main question is as 1 creature with soulbound is not paired when this one enters the battlefield, can I pair then the souldbounded creature that is already paired? as the condition of another unpaired creature is being made, or as the other part of the ruling I cannot unpair that creature as is already paired with one? sorry if this one was confused.

thanks

1. the token will enter with 0 counters and most likely die immediatly

2. protection does not stop Lure effects, he still has to block the decoy with all able creatures

3. if 2 creatures with soulbond are paired they grant each other both abilities
so a Silverblade Paladin paired with Wolfir Silverheart will cause both creatures to get double strike and +4/+4
you can only ever pair 2 creatures, not 3 or more. Magic believes in traditional marriage

1. No, the counters are not copied.

2. You are correct.  Having protection does not prefent Golgari Decoy 's ability that forces his creatures to block.

3.  You can only pair a creature to an unpaired creature.  No you can't choose to unpair a creature for no reason.

No, the counters are not copied.  The Clone will enter with no counters and will be 0/0 and die.

You are right.  Protection does not stop the Decoy's ability.  Your opponent's creatures still have to block the Decoy.

No you can't pair it.  As you just said, you can only pair with another unpaired creature, and the two creatures are already paired.

The counters are not copied. Clone / Cackling Counterpart will enter the battlefield with no +1/+1 counters, and will die a moment later.

Your opponent is wrong.

Protection stops 4 things: Damage, Enchanting/equipping, Blocking, and Targetting. Golgari Decoy 's ability is doing none of those things, so protection won't allow his creatures to block at will.

can I pair then the souldbounded creature that is already paired?

No. You can only pair it with an unpaired creature.

Pairings will be broken automatically if one of the creature dies, changes controller, or stops being a creature, but otherwise the pairs remain indefinitely.
