Ok so in my exact case, I'll have Grimgrin and at least another creature out, along with Synod sanctum. My question is can I sac the one creature to untap grimgrin but in response use the synod ability and exile it? I mean that's assuming I have the 2 colorless but..

What exactly are you asking? If you can exile the creature you sac'd to Grimgrin's ability?
No, if that's the case. You can't respond to costs.
